I've been capturing these pesky medium sized ants I find in my house and then ggiving them a tiny bit of isopropyl alcohol and watching them die a slow, slow, slowww death. I am doing this because I just went on leave from my job and have nothing better to do. Am I crazy or just normal? Please help!

So we have a new employee we hired recently. During this employee's interviews neither myself nor the owner of the company noticed an "odor." On their second day in the office, a few employees noticed an odor and on the third day EVERYONE noticed it. I will be honest - it was pretty bad.

Well, the next day towards the end of the workday, I brought the employee into my office and closed the door and mentioned that if they were wearing fragrance, there were a few people who found it to be too strong and we would have to request that it would be toned down. Things seemed to get better, but now it's gotten bad again.

There's a debate between the owners of the company and me as to whether it's from them not washing their clothes or if it's really, well, body odor. Today, I think I've decided it's the latter. So now the question - how does a manager/supervisor address this matter? And thoughtful (in both senses of the word) responses would be greatly appreciated.

I was at a bowling alley and asked an attendent which ball would be best. He said "females usually like this type of ball." He said female in the course of his explanation a couple more times before I just looked at him and said "We're called women" (the other attendent, a woman, laughed) He offered the excuse "We'll I never know if I should say girls or women, or if it will offend anyone." "Can't you tell ages?" So let's help him out, whose offended when called either of these terms and why?

Sorry, I just thought it was quite ridiculous how sometimes there's totally pointless questions like this! I know it's out of politeness, but I think the person could quickly follow up with, "Can I help you?" or something like that at least! And sometimes, which is equally as ridiculous, the person being asked the question replies, "I'm fine." when they're in tears... what's with that? Can't we just honestly open up and say what's wrong?

if I walk in my city/village(50 000 people) I see loads of 'retarted' people, people who don't like to work and who don't work much either, who are mostly involved in somekind of criminal things, who don't have respect for other people, talk in a way you need a translator to understand them, am I arrogant if I feel myself better then them? i'm probably a little bit richer, because off my parents, but I mean the people I mean hang around in my town in 'gangs', aren't well educated and will probably end later in jail or will be at home without a job. they have bad friends when they are young and end up later as criminals, I feel myself better then them, because I'm smarter, (richer, not rich, but I have everything I need), I'm better behaved and I'm much more politer then them, do you think it's arrogant then think like this? I'm just an ordinary person who is polite to people and can't stand the sight off such people who haven't good manners....

I'm forever seeing them being chucked out of car windows or thrown on the pavement to be stamped out and just left there. I'm not saying don't smoke (in the right places - hey as long as its only your health your ruining?) but don't be so selfish and anti-social. I can manage to put my rubbish in a bin.

My niece is coming in for a wedding in Sept. She lives in Arizona.
We would like to throw her a "gift card" baby shower because she could not possibly bring all the gifts from Chicago to Arizona. We thought it more practical to suggest gift cards so that she can buy everything she needs for her first baby when she gets home. She has no friends or family in Ariz, as she recently moved there.

Any ideas/suggestions for this situation? Or does this seem rude to "tell" inviteee what to bring?

In a restaurant with the family (3 kids, mom, and dad) (1 child in a wheelchair). A lady comes up to this child and hands him a $5 bill and says, "This is because you have a nice smile." What do you say or do?

One day you dropped a thumbtack on the floor, you search but can not find, months go by and one of your friends who happens to be a diabetic enters the hospital for a sore that won't heal . It becomes so infected, they had to remove her leg from knee down. Later you are told she stepped on a tack that was found in her foot that caused the infection What would you do, tell her you are the one who dropped the tack, or remain silent?

So I was there, talking with my friend at the table in a cafe during lunch, and well, I finished eating and he was still finishing his steak. Nature called and I let out a SBD (silent bud deadly) on my seat, and I guess it escaped towards him. He got mad at me, said I was disgusting and refused to continue eating his food. Did he overreact?

I think he overreacted because what I did was natural AND it was not my fault the smell went his way.
