According to the oopma loompas:
Gum chewing's fine when it's once and a while. It stops you from smoking and brightens you smile. But its replusive, revolting and wrong...chewing and chewing all day long. (The way that a cow does)

huh? and what decibal? wow dude, you need to get a hobby or something.

chewing gum on the plane is a good thing because it prevents your ears popping. just don't chew gum like you are chewing cud because it is annoying

Gum is not a pass time, it's to freshen your mouth. ONce the flavor is gone (5 mins), throw it away!

And when you chew, chew it with your mouth closed and not making noise... only pretentious Hollywood prostitutes do that.

Definately not infront of ones teacher I don't think the decibels are necessary. I do chew gum to clean my teeth & exercise my jaw but at home when alone in private okay.

Unless one is with friends who understand your habit, any chewing with one's mouth open is clearly rude. In close quarters, within hearing range of strangers, gum popping is VERY rude.

In the open outdoors where earshot contact with strangers is casual and infrequent, a gum chewer should feel free to relax and chew, blow and pop to his content. Any one who attempts to criticise or stop them is not minding their own business.

i would die without gum. i think it is safe to chew just about anywhere, unless it involves great lenghts of speech by you. never loudly, that is just annoying, chew with you mouth closed so nobody can hear you.

chewing is fine but not when it's loud, and you can see the gum while the person talks.

it is, really, i mean it burns calories and makes your breath smell minty fresh, but too much chewing is bad because the stomach acid finds its way up the esophagus because your body thinks that you are eating something...but jsut chew quietly it just sounds soo bad
