To become the Alpha species we have systematically eliminated competing species or mitigated their threat to our survival. Now, at the apex, mankind is the only viable threat to mankind. In our efforts to guard against, or eliminate that threat, will our survival instinct lead to our demise?

Well, what do we have here. If you read that article you would notice the word "Hindu extremists". And you thought only Muslims were capable of acting violently. Looks like extremists can be from any religion.

Hi.

Christmas day falls on the same date every year (December 25th) and so does guy fawkes (Nov 5th) and rememberance day (Nov 11th) and so on...

So how come EASTER day is on a different date every year? Jesus was born on 25th December, so we celebrate this date every year; which make sense.... but it doesn't make sense that Easter is on different dates every year... surely the date when Jesus was crucified, should be the same every year.... Why is it that the Easter date is different every year???

Thanks...

Last year my brother died of a completely curable form of skin cancer while applying the church's homemade "cures". This Christmas, my stepmother died from cervical cancer after refusing treatment for 13 months and being told by 2 church members (holistic quacks) that her cancer had been cured. I'm just wondering exactly how many people die each year because of the so-called Church of scientology?

Yesterday after a snowfall I noticed my neighbor snow blowing his drive and then a little bit later he was doing mine. I am friendly with him and his wife but we are not 'friends' per se. I am a single mother of three and we do not have a snow blower. The weekend before when it snowed apx 8" my son, daughter and I all got out and shoveled half of my drive - enough so that I could get in and out of my garage. I am very thankful that he came over and snow blowed my drive as I hate shoveling and we dont have a snow blower. I also am the only single person on my street and I think the only one w/out a snowblower... my question is what should I do to show my appreciation. I was thinking of sending over a card with $10 in it to say thanks and the money as a way of helping with the cost of gas as I know he didnt do it as a way to earn money. Is that appropriate?

John 15:6, Kjv reads: "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned."

Lets say that i have just invented a cure for cancer but it needs to be voted on before it can be used, what would your vote be?

In order for this cure to work an embryo must be scarificed, not a foetus, an embryo that is still just a ball of 8 cells and has never experienced anything close to life, it doesnt even have the beginnings of a nervous system at this point so has no thoughts, any changes occuring are by chemical gradients out of its control

If you would vote no to this how about if each sacrifice saved a thousand people? How many people would you need to save before its acceptable, if its acceptable, give me your opinions people

i wanted some new wine glasses, a new purse and a new make up bag, and didn't get one of the above, but I am very happy with what I did get, should I be more obvious? Do you think saying 'I'm running out of wine glasses' was not obvious enough? Did you do any better

I have a wonderful old 130 pound Chesepeake that is my buddy. He is 12 years old now and really showing his age. We take good care of him and hope he holds up a few more years but....when he is gone I will be sorely missing him. Are any of you really attached to your pet? Do yo think everyone should have one , just for the comfort and companionship? I just don't know what I would do if I had to come home to an empty house without him. Tell me about your pets.

I'm really confused right now, last night at a party me and my friend got pretty drunk, and on 3 or 4 occasions we kissed for long periods. Then when we went to the toilet together we got really close, kissing and what not. But this time she started to 'touch' me, and so i did the same for her. She kept whispering that she has been wanting me for so long....
I'm a bi/lesbian whereas she is straight, and so this makes me really confused as to whether she meant what she said and did...? We have made out before at annother party before..

I appologise to anyone who finds this confusing, i'm just so confused at the moment i just need some kind of advice of some sort.. thank you very much

My husband's family is getting together for a holiday party tomorrow. As I was writing my grocery shopping list I was trying to think of something different to bring to the party....and I thought it might be fun to try and make sugar plums. I've not done them before, but it won't be the first time I've tried making something I've not done before for them; there'll be at least 22 of us, so I figure someone might like them....:) I'd love to know if you've had them before and if you like them.

If yes is that how a religion should be held? Can the democratic process change the orignal teachings of a religion?

If no, than what would you call it?

This is in relation to how the pope is chosen.

consider this scenario and comment please.
a teenage girl used to believe very firmly, but as she grew up she started to sin, so bad that she even committed one of the seven deadly sins. after a while, she felt so guilty that she stopped and prayed for forgiveness. but she felt that she was losing faith, so she prayed for faith too. then one night, she dreamt that Jesus appeared in her house for an instant, and she was so scared that she ran away (in her dream).

what do you make of that? any comments?
