According to Jim Walczak, they are supposed to be a great off-road vehicle. He also states: " It's very large, yet handles with more precision than some smaller trucks. The Hummers' turning radius (26.5 feet) is good compared to other large sport-utes. It can travel places other vehicles cannot. It can go virtually anywhere: through rivers, mud, snowdrifts, and over obstacles of many sizes. It doesn't ride like a tank, and the OnStar system is standard. It is a more sophisticated 4WD system than most SUVs, including a lockable differential and traction control that only requires one wheel to have traction, plus a second mode for mud or sand driving. The fact that a Hummer is a full-time 4WD means powerful 4-wheel drive capabilities at all times. And lastly, despite the poor gas mileage, the Hummer comes with a 32-gallon gas tank, so it will go just as far on one tank of gas as most other vehicles.
