Last year my brother died of a completely curable form of skin cancer while applying the church's homemade "cures". This Christmas, my stepmother died from cervical cancer after refusing treatment for 13 months and being told by 2 church members (holistic quacks) that her cancer had been cured. I'm just wondering exactly how many people die each year because of the so-called Church of scientology?

You aren't doing it right!
If you are going to post interesting things like this then you need to hide your previous answers and questions. It gives you away if people can see the other things you post.

And you need to be less shocking. It doesn't work well. The media jumps on things like you are saying so we would all be able to say the name of anyone who had that happen to them. At least google for the sites online that do a good job of rewriting news articles and police reports so that it sounds possible.

The way it is now there seems to be one person who died since the 1950's and one who had their life destroyed by them. Anyone who reads all the scientology posts here can name those two people and the web sites about those two people.

I give you a hint. Switch to the catholics. There is a ton more stuff that has been done. Also it is all much more recent.

A lot of people high up in the steps of the Church of Scientology have gotten cancer. None have figured out a "cure". The Church of Scientology infers that they have the answers, but they do not. So people in Scientology who get sick put their trust in the organization, and later (too late) they find out it was all a hoax. The Church of Scientology has signs posted that you cannot use their "technology" to cure disease, but there is far too much verbal contradictions that go on. And people believe the verbal stuff and discount the posted notices as "just something to keep those doctor-licensing guys out of our hair."

Since the actions within the organization support the verbally-stated ideas that SCIENTOLOGY CAN CURE DISEASE, the signs are just a legal formality.

Sorry to hear about your brother and step-mom. Yes, it was probably avoidable. Scientologists are discouraged from seeking the help of a doctor. After all, the worse condition a person gets in, and the more panicked they are... the more money the Church of Scientology can obtain from their "parishioner".

I really don't know anything about scientology, except they're just another belief.
I just want to tell you that I'm sorry for your losses..

If it were just one, that'd be too many.

John 10:10
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
