Yes, assuming you receive First Reconciliation (Confession) first.
With love in Christ.

First Holy Communion refers to the first time a person receives the Eucharist in the Roman Catholic Church. Before making your first holy communion a person will also 'go to Confession' - the sacrament of Reconciliation. Any sins a person has committed will be absolved and an act of penance will be performed, usually in the form of sincerley saying a number of prayers.
A person should not receive Holy Communion if they have deliberatley committed a mortal sin (knowing it is a serious sin and still committing it) until they have again confessed this and made reparation and been absolved. Or if they honestly desire the Sacrament of Reconciliation but it is not available to them. The Seven Deadly Sins are not Mortal sins however. If you want to have a definiation of what constitutes a mortal sin go to www.saintaquinas.com/mortal_sin.html

Usually your first holy communion is at 7 years old.
I assume you are not 7 years old. This would mean you are becoming Catholic? If so, you can only receive Eucharist (this goes for anyone, first communion or not) if you are free of mortal sin. This means you have to go to confession, but not just "go" to confession. You have to be sorry, contrite, offer retribution for your sin. Do penance.
Bottom line, no one should receive the body of our Lord in a state of mortal sin. St. Paul says those who do call judgment down on themselves.

OK - first of all there is no such thing as "mortal" sin in God's eyes. Show me where God has quantified sin, please?
We all sin.
What we are called to is to understand where we sin and to STOP doing it! This was the call of John the Baptizer - "Repent!"
You cannot go back and fix whatever you have done. This is the benefit of Communion. You will show by your actions that you WANT to stop and you wish to have fellowship and communion with God. It is through His power and all forgiving Grace (unmerited favor) that you can be set free from the damaging emotional tearing that your sin has caused you.
Please stop with this deadly sin thing and really seek the truth.

According to Catholic dogma, no you cannot, until you have confessed your sins and done penance in a truly contrite manner.
However, only you can decide if church dogma is something that you want to follow, if it is right for you.
God is not outside of you but within. That inner voice telling you what you know is right and wrong. Because each of us is an extension of God, here on earth in physical form. We each form a different dimension of God, so that God can experience physical beingness. God experiences "him/her/itself" through us and all living beings. We are all one and we are all and extension, a physical expression of the all, experiencing itself in physical form.
I don't believe that God, which is the process of life itself, really cares much whether we take communion, or sprinkle ourselves with holy water, or genuflect before getting into the pew or anything petty of that nature. I think God is much greater than all of that, and loves us all no matter what. Probably much more than we love ourselves.

No,one whould have to go to Confession first
Although 7 yr olds are unlikely to be able to commit mortal sin, the discipline is for First Confession before 1st Com unless one is baptized just before 1st Com

..."if" you're following the "religious" rules and bondage while practicing the "religious gymnastics" of the Roman Church you do... If you are following the Word of God from His Scriptures, all you need to do is ask for forgiveness in Jesus Name and you will be forgiven... No darken-closet to sit in, no special prayers, no playing with beads and trying to pray to a dead woman or lighting of candles, no talking with a "man" who might be being investigated by the Feds for being a pedophile... no paying for indulgences... just be free in Christ... That's God Word, not the words of the old men of Rome... "You shall know the Truth and the Truth shall make you free"...that's Gods promise... not the words of Rome...

First holy communion is a man made tradition, and is NOT of God.

I don't think you have to worry about Church Rules. Jesus Christ was their founder, and so you can simply read his words in the four gospels and judge for yourself if they are giving it to you straight or not.
We are all God's children, and like any real Father, God would be proud to see the children think for themselves. But of course, this is just an opinion.
