consider this scenario and comment please.
a teenage girl used to believe very firmly, but as she grew up she started to sin, so bad that she even committed one of the seven deadly sins. after a while, she felt so guilty that she stopped and prayed for forgiveness. but she felt that she was losing faith, so she prayed for faith too. then one night, she dreamt that Jesus appeared in her house for an instant, and she was so scared that she ran away (in her dream).
what do you make of that? any comments?

This young woman needs more instruction in the Catholic faith and needs to receive the Sacraments (penance & Eucharist) much more often than she currently is. Then she will neither fear the Lord nor lose her faith.

The weight of her sin is getting to her. She needs to seek forgiveness for her sin. Since you asked for the Catholic perspective, this can only mean one thing - go and receive the Sacrament of Confession. Her sins will be forgiven, and there will be no more need to carry any guilt on her shoulders.
Catholic guilt is a myth. When someone is weighed done by their sins, it's because they repent in their heart, but still refuse to ask for forgiveness by going to receive the Sacrament of Confession. When one repents of their sins, all they have to do is receive Confession at the earliest opportunity and all's forgiven and the guilt is gone.
People pile the guilt on themselves. The Church is there to alleviate the guilt, not help pile it on.

Jesus will always come if you ask Him too. God loves us, probably much more than we love ourselves. S/he is also much more forgiving of us than we are. Of course she would be scared. We are even afraid of receiving the things we want, because it means change. It's okay to be scared. Courage doesn't mean not being afraid, it means acting in spite of fear.

it's natural to question your faith. but once you figure out why you believe what you believe, it'll only make your faith stronger. the important thing is to never give up.
