Nowhere in the original scriptures does it say that Jesus wasn't married. Nowhere in the original scriptures (before mistranslations) did it say that Mary was a virgin. Nowhere in the texts does it say that half of them weren't gay. All this skewed teaching is based on assumptions, that are not even backed up by scripture. The only one that can be reasonably assumed to have made these claims was a freak from Tarsus who didn't even know Jesus or the apostles, and didn't even bother to hide the fact that he was a sexist bigot.

My favorite was the fireball clone who said since giving up sex she glows when she walks into a room. That shouldn't have been deleted, that was too frickin' hilarious.
It doesn't have to be from R&S, but I figured I'd get some comical ones out of this section.

... So why are so many of you unwilling to accept the possibility that one of the reasons things are as they are is that there's no God to make things different.?

What is there but cannot be seen, smelled, heard or felt?
What is there but some do not believe exists?
What is there and people spend their entire lives looking for it?
What was there from the begining and will be there until the end?
What is all over and still cannot be found?
What holds everything together yet its cause is unknown?

My husband works for the local council, and was expected back at work on Boxing Day, yet there was no real need for him to do so. He used to manage to wangle the day off, but the crafty bosses have now fitted tracking devices on his work's vehicle, so they know exactly where he is, at all times. They have a whole week off themselves, and I think it's pretty mean of them. Anyone agree?

I'm watching G4 and it's claiming (in general) US citizens have hangups about their bodies and sex in particular. Partly because of religious influence.

Do you believe that?

Okay, i have taken the best arguments from the other side, and I want you to explain these. No need to do them all if you don't want, but I'll leave this question long enough to be covered. ^_^

1)The Book of Mormon teaches that little children are not capable of sin because they do not have a sinful nature (Moroni 8:8). In contrast, the Bible in Psalm 51:5 clearly teaches that we have sinful nature from birth: "Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me" (NIV). (This does not mean that those who die in infancy are lost

2)According to a Book of Mormon prophecy (Helaman 14:27), at the time of Christ’s crucifixion "darkness should cover the face of the whole earth for the space of three days." In contrast, the New Testament gospel accounts declare repeatedly that there was darkness for only three hours while Jesus was on the cross (Matthew 27:45; Mark 15:33; Luke 23:44).

My mother eats black eyed peas every New Year's day. She says it brings good luck thoughout the year and she won't start the year without them.

Do you know any other New Year's superstitions? (Even if you don't personally believe that they're true.)

The bible never says that sexual attraction is a sin in and of itself or needs to be cured. It's when a person indulges in sexual thoughts like pornography or engages in sexual acts that it becomes a choice or sin. All people are born with sinful predispositions like lust, pride, or laziness, so just because a feeling is natural does not make acting on it moral. It might be natural to want to beat someone up who says things to hurt you, but that doesn't make it right to actually do so. Using animal behavior to justify sexual acts is also a moot point because animals engage in many behaviors like cannibalism and running around naked that would obviously not be acceptable for humans. And doesn't doing what's moral require us to rise above the base instinct to satisfy our selfish desires for pleasure and self preservation. If everyone always did what was "natural" or "innate", we would be in a lot of trouble.

When Jesus (Lord Yeshua) died and rose up again to glory...He did not stop to be Hebrew until today, did he not?

With all the Bible translations today, aren't we being deceived from calling on the name of the Lord?
