Share your favorite New Year's beliefs/superstitions?

My mother eats black eyed peas every New Year's day. She says it brings good luck thoughout the year and she won't start the year without them.

Do you know any other New Year's superstitions? (Even if you don't personally believe that they're true.)

I heard.........
that at 12 you break an egg..in a clear glass cup...and you hide it where nobody else can find it..and the next morning you check it out..they say its suppose to have some sort of picture made out of the white stuff of the egg..i've tried it..but didnt really understood it..but once my grandmother (r.i.p.)did it in El Salvador..and she said the yolk turned out to be black the next morning..and that same year she died..so uh..ya..it may work..it may not..

another one is at 11 you write down in a piece of paper all the bad things that have happened and then you put the paper on a dish..then you burn it till there are ashes..and with the ashes at 11 55 you put it in a smalll black bag and you throw it away.....and that makes good things happen throughtout the year

also the 12 grapes..you eat them at night

9- make sure you got $money in the walet money on you some were
10- make sure you take a bath and be clean
