I have seen these TV shows about sexuality in different countries and how they differ.
My opinion is that there is such a thing as common sense and common decency. Call me old fashioned if you want to but I still say that some things are meant to be private.
And that doesn't have anything to do with religion! ... Blessings!

I don't know how much of it has to do with religion but we do have a few "hangups" when it comes to body image. I think it has more to do with the difference in the way some men are. A woman can only hear her "other halve" tell her how fat she is or how she if too thin. I have spent a lot of time in other countries and have see for myself that the number of men who need to belittle there women is smaller. I am not saying that all American men do this so no hate mail but some do.

Actually, that is true. We Americans have that Puritan influence in our culture that just refuses to go away.
Our culture has more sexuality related issues than any other European or Indo-European country on the planet.
Don't believe it? Take a look at the swimsuits commonly worn in Pacific Island countries or in Asia. How about the ones coming out of Brazil?
Now compare those to what the law allows here in the USA and see the difference. And that's just in swimwear.
Most fashion that comes out of European designers is quite revealing compared to US based designers, who tend to be more mundane in their sexual influences on fashion.
There are tv commercials that would never air here, but do get aired in Great Britain and Europe, just because they are considered too racy for US audiences.
Things like sex and sexuality are regarded as we regard our hair or eye color. A "so what" attitude about it all makes it no big deal over there, but our Puritan influences make these things a big deal and so it stays that way.
Until we, as a nation, change our attitudes about sex, we are stuck with it.

Yes, and Christians in particular have serious problems with sex. I trace most of it back to the Apostle Paul, who really is the central figure in establishing early Christianity (even more than Peter and James). Read Paul's letters in the NT. You'll see many references there to his own celibacy and fear of the sensual body. He also seems to have distrusted women, although he could abide their service. And Paul really hated "Greek learning," especially science and philosophy, since these tended to be efforts to understand nature rationally (and not mysteriously, as Paul preferred). So Paul is really the source of much of the sexual antipathy that has been at the root of Christianity from the 1st century.

I don't know what G4 is, but I'd say that yes, that claim is correct. How prevalent and strong said hangups are varies in region, depending on where you go in the U.S.

Oh well. I'm British, and I don't have any particular hangups. There's lots of pornography coming out of America, though, so you mustn't be too inhibited

Yes, we're quite f'd up in the body image/sexuality area compared to other cultures in the world. We're obese, we're anorexic, we're shocked and appalled to see a woman breastfeed her baby. We're bassackwards.
