The bible never says that sexual attraction is a sin in and of itself or needs to be cured. It's when a person indulges in sexual thoughts like pornography or engages in sexual acts that it becomes a choice or sin. All people are born with sinful predispositions like lust, pride, or laziness, so just because a feeling is natural does not make acting on it moral. It might be natural to want to beat someone up who says things to hurt you, but that doesn't make it right to actually do so. Using animal behavior to justify sexual acts is also a moot point because animals engage in many behaviors like cannibalism and running around naked that would obviously not be acceptable for humans. And doesn't doing what's moral require us to rise above the base instinct to satisfy our selfish desires for pleasure and self preservation. If everyone always did what was "natural" or "innate", we would be in a lot of trouble.

running around naked was simply an example and refers to situations like going to a job interview not living in a tribal societies. and while it might be natural to help our own kind, we should also help others who are different than us. I'm not saying that ALL natural behavior is wrong, just that giving in to our feelings isn't always right either, as with negative feelings like anger or envy.

Consider this....

The knowledge of good and evil that we received at the tree is black and white among all tribes, nations, religions, and philosophies with rare exception...a liar is not wise...a thief is not wise....a drunk is not wise...be you christian, wiccan, communist, atheist, republican, democrat, or found tomorrow in the darkest corner of the Amazon basin...this code is universal and black and white. The Scripture proclaims in Romans 2 that the Gentile by their very nature do what is contained in the law either accusing themselves or excusing themselves by it.

Now let us consider what is "gray" from the dawn of man....1) man will individually or collectively throw out all of the rules to survive and 2) there has been a wide variance of sexual mores throughout different cultures and tribes. Interestingly enough, these two areas are tied into our closeness to God being made in His image...survival is tied into our eternal nature as eternal spirits and sex is tied into the fact that we procreate. God is eternal and He creates. We are truly made in His image. These are our innate primordial base instincts as part of our created order.

Now break these instincts with the sin nature and what happens?

Ta daaa !

Is it no wonder that sexual lust seems almost impossible to conquer and many a decent Christian carry it quietly to the grave?

Hope this helps.

why would running around naked not be acceptable for humans? many highly civilized societies accepted nudity. where do you draw the line between instincts that are moral and those that aren't? being kind to a person in need is instincive, and animals are kind to others of their kind who are hurt, so should we not be kind to each other because it's animalistic?

you really have no right to pass moral judgment on people whose actions are not harmful. nudity is not harmful, consensual sex is not harmful, and for the arkansans out there, buying dildoes is not harmful.

I think that a person should do what is best for them; and what is best for them may not be something that is best for you.

"...And harm none, do what ye will."
this says you should never try to do anything that might be harmful to another, and that can be any form of harm. In my opinion you should be what comes "natural" to YOU.

Beyond that, it seems clear from Scripture that YHVH is willing to give us the wisdom and power to do those things He directs us to do,,,, and the peace that passes all understanding is a byproduct of obedience.

animals may prey upon one another, but they would never start a war. animals may have a pecking order, but they do mourn the loss of the least of them.
