Can I separate the tenets of faith from secular affairs when voting? Or would my ability to separate these two (my Catholic faith from secular sensibilities) indicate that my faith is not real?

What do you think? An example often debated is abortion with some politicians declaring themselve pro-choice and Christian in loud voices but there are other issues..

I am trying to figure this out before the next Presidential election. Your views?

What is real faith? This is the question lurking beneath my struggle with this..

I am new on my job and some of the associates got me very nice holiday gifts. Except for my own boss, most of them are people I barely know. I want to send thank you notes that are sincere, but it is hard to write a personal note when I don't even know what a couple of them look like. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

what's with all the christmas bashing. CHRISTmas is about CHRIST, not about presents. NOBODY MAKES U CELEBRATE CHRISTIAN HOLIDAYS!
Why is every other religion allowed to have their holidays .nobody says, hey let's change hannakuh, cuz i'm not jewish. let's call it 'the holiday' or 'gift-ikuh'. how come Christians are the only religions that are discriminated against? everyone else is protected in America, even the Muslims??? why is it that in public schools, muslims are allowed to worship, but for Christians it is strictly forbidden?
Have people forgotten the fact that America was founded by Christians? on Christian morals and beliefs. That the whole reason the pilgrims came to America was so that they would be free to worship God?

A new family moved to our neighborhood a week ago. My daughter is 14. The new neighbor's daughter is 13. The family is Jehovahs Witness The neighbor girl told my daughter she doesn't want to be a Jehovahs and plans to run away this summer. How should I handle this situation. She also wants to come over for Christmas Dinner. What should my daughter tell her?

I'm a teen and really want to help out in my community or with an organization, but there's nothing my area. Trust me, I have tried all of my options to look for a place where I could help out, such as a soup kitchen, but to no avail. Is there any way I can volunteer my time online, such as talking to people who aren't in the best situation (depressed, bullied, etc.) or.. well, anything?

Thank you to those who can give me some information.

Is Norwegian Lutheranism only used as a source of humor on "A Prairie Home Companion"?

Are there Christian "morals" to his stories? Guy Noir? Lives of the Cowboys? Ketchup Council?

Do you find many references to Unitarian Universalists and Episcopalians?

Is he joking with, chiding, mocking, or evangelizing yuppies?

i grew up in a christian family but didn't accept christ into my life until only about two years ago. I am in a public highschool, and for the most part, am a complete stranger to my life at home. i feel so tired of being a christian, but i know this is wrong. lately, i've been listening to good uplifting christian music to try and get myself back with god, but nothing really pops out at me. i don't want a devotional book, i just want a book that is not bible verse after bible verse. i've tried chicken soup but i did'nt like it. any spiritual books for teenagers that give really great intakes amd lessons on life as we live it? preferably for girls. i love jesus so much and i have gone through many storms trusting Him, but i want my lif to be completely Christ-filled and i want all my non-christian friends to wonder why i am different. as i said before, i love my God so much and am striving to try to make my life a beter example of His redemption and love.

If you did all the other sacraments, kept your house in order, missioned, etc, yet did not tithe, would you still gain celestial heaven?

Does the church make you tithe a specific way, or do you just put some cash or a check in the collection basket on Sundays? Thanks in advance!

Sidenote: I understand the importance of tithing, completely, so thats not what Im wondering, just wanted to know if it were required. Thanks!
