My daughter (she was 16) sneaked her brother and sisters out of school and took them to Walmart where they bought matching black sweaters and then they had their picture taken. They framed the 10x13 and gave it to me for Christmas. Also one year my mother took her grandmothers original birth certificate (it was very ornate) and had it professionally laminated on wood and gave it to me.

When I was a kid we had an artificial tree that was kept in the same box for many years. I suppose one year I was bored and wrote a note on the side of the box that read "Hi .. I'm noonecanne the great... oh yes, that is the truth!" I must have been about 10 when I wrote that. Last year my mom cut that part out of the box, framed it and gave it to me for Christmas. It's right here, next to my computer. I love it because it reminds me of all those years of putting up that tree and it always makes me chuckle to read it.

A lovely framed piece of class with a very sentimental poem about Mother on it. My eldest son gave it to me about fifteen years ago and yes I still have it. He's the sentimental one in the family.

How this for the least? An extra large cast iron skillet with a lid.

Well, it wasn't a Christmas gift, rather a birthday present, but my mother found a picture of me sleeping on my father's chest the day I was born. She framed it and gave it to me for my 21st. It brought me to tears in the middle of my lunch at Friendly's and yes, I still have it.

One of my daughters was born the day
after Christmas. I was in severe pain
and moaning around the house on
Christmas. No, I don't have her.
She's too uppity for the likes of me.

I received a lockett with a photo of my grandmother ( maternal) in it when I was 14 - yes I still have it, she is no longer with us physically but that photo combined with my memories keeps her close always.

My Aunt found out she was terminally ill....In March, she wrapped all her most prized possessions, and wrote notes, telling each recipient how much they had meant to her....She died in July.....On Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day, her son, per her instructions, delivered all her "Gifts", and they were precious.......I shall always keep it, and her .......close to my heart...................
