how do you tell if a person is gay if he doesnt come out about it??

This sounds so cliche, but I can normally just tell by looking at the guy for a minute or two. Gay guys just seem to move and shift their weight in a different way. It's like they're more fluid, physically and verbally.

Well if he won't talk about it or avoids questions about it then there is a pretty good chance they are gay. but have you tried talking to this person? if not try it. just tell them you are concered and want to help. you will be there no matter what. if they want to talk about it.......good.......if not....... give em time. sometimes it takes time for someone to want to talk about something like this. excpesially if they have been hiding it for a while or just doesn't want anybody to know. just ask a few questions and give it time. if you are just trying to find out from a distance take a look at their clothes, attidude, posture, you know little stuff.

You could ask, but then the answer might not be the truth if he is in the closet. There isn't any "gay test" you can do to sniff us out, I'm afraid.
Why do you care? If he's gay and you're not, then it's none of your business. If he's gay and you are and fancy him, then if he's in the closet he's unlikely to do anything about it anyway.
If someone isn't open about being gay, then it's important to respect their privacy (unless they are being homophobic, in which case, I say open season to "out" the jerks).

You seriously can't! Sorry unless you ask and sometimes even if you ask they wont be truthfull with you. I have been confused as beeing gay, but I am certainly not and I have some friends who would never be classified as gay, but trust me they are!

You can't tell for sure if someone's gay or not if they don't come out about it.
Just ask him. Be tactful, that's all you can do.

ask him. plus if you think or even suspect he is gay, 80% of the time he most likely is.
