Did Jesus say that he had a new law that was going to take the place of the old testament laws? So instead of following all those laws and dos and don'ts, now what we have to do is love our neighbor as ourself.

So why are there still a lot of christians who hate non-christians and try to get to heaven on faith, works, what you do or don't do, or whatever? Maybe they never hear about Jesus new law?

Nephi says you are saved after all you can do. The Bible says in 1 Cor. that God provides us with a way to escape temptation. If we have ever sinned we have failed to use God's escape plan from temptation- thus failing the requirement of doing all we CAN do.

Where are 2 Nephi 25:23 and Moroni 10:32 reversed by the saying -"by GOd knowing we have tried our best"

ANd can you ever say you have tried your best?

Please contact me at paris_midi@yahoo.com. I need to share my experience of hearing voices with others like me, please help I really need to know u if you're out there and struggling like me. I'm alone right now and I can't help feeling suicidal. I only hear voices, they're there all the time. I can't make them go away, they get worse when I need help and that's when I want to die. Please, if it's not too much to ask, please drop me a note or e-mail and tell me what u have done to get through this, I just cry and cry I can't control it. They have started telling me lately that they feel like killing me... so I'm like great! I want to die anyway... lol... I can't help what they say to me that's why I feel out of control. I think if u've been through it u may know what I feel like... please anybody help me.

A group of my friends are doing a secret santa this year, it's not really secret as everyone knows who's got everyone else. I have got my present for my person and made a light hearted remark to the person who has got mine about how I can't wait for us all to swap gifts. She told me (in all seriousness) that she'd run out of time to get me a gift and that I'll have to wait until January. I don't want to sound rude but I can't help feeling a bit dissappointed. We always go out for lunch and swap gifts and I can't help feeling that I'm going to be a bit left out - being the one person there with nothing to open. Plus we drew names a fortnight ago, and I know she went Christmas shopping the other day. Am I being unreasonable to be a bit annoyed or should I just be greatful that I'm getting something, regardless of when. Also, at the dinner, what should I do when everyone's swapping gifts and talking about what they've got?

I get so tired of hearing Christian friends of mine qualify Bush's presidency with Old Testament references. Are churches not emphasizing Jesus and his teachings enough? Even as i say it it sounds like a ridiculous question.

I've asked before why people believe in god at all. The answer that seems to make the most sense to me is that people have had personal experiences that led them to believe that god exists. Many people were helped through troubled times by what they perceived to be "god".

My question for these people is why they believe in the specific god they believe in. I can understand that if, for example, a person falls from a tall building and survives that person might believe that god saved them. What doesn't seem to make sense is that often they will say that Jesus (or some other specific incarnation of god) saved them. How do they know it was Jesus?

On a related note, do people with specific religious beliefs think that those beliefs would arise in them even in the absence of outside influence? Would you hold the religious beliefs you hold even if there were no religious texts or religious institutions telling you that those were the correct beliefs?

and tapping his too long nails. He slurps his coffee, makes weird noises all day, yawns, stretches and acts like he's at home in his den. Said he's been a truck driver past 5 yrs so apparently has lost his office ettiquette. The other male employee that sits in our area notices all of this as well but the ones that hired him thinks he walks on water, yet they don't have to sit here and listen to him all day! We've even joked around how we think he's going to explode and he doesn't say anything. Don't give him a piece of hard candy, you'll hear him sucking on it in the next room!! What can I do to get some sanity back in this room???

Holidays are always the time portrayed as happy and everyone getting along.. but I know some of you are feeling a little lonely and depressed? Maybe families can not get together, some don't get along...or missing a loved one who has passed away... Anything I can do to help??

The last time we drove from Florida to Wisconsin we drove 24 hours before we got a room. The last time I went to Pittsburgh getting through the airports kicked my butt. Flying to Atlanta is hard because the airport is so huge. It takes a lot of stamina to get through Hartsfield airport. I try to use my energy to get the most mileage but also not to end up comatose with fatigue. Hubby is drive like hell and you'll get there person. I'm a okay I need to stop and stretch my legs and use the bathroom and get a drink person.
