and tapping his too long nails. He slurps his coffee, makes weird noises all day, yawns, stretches and acts like he's at home in his den. Said he's been a truck driver past 5 yrs so apparently has lost his office ettiquette. The other male employee that sits in our area notices all of this as well but the ones that hired him thinks he walks on water, yet they don't have to sit here and listen to him all day! We've even joked around how we think he's going to explode and he doesn't say anything. Don't give him a piece of hard candy, you'll hear him sucking on it in the next room!! What can I do to get some sanity back in this room???

We don't have an actual HR... or I'd already be there! This guy was hired by the office manager, the owner's wife and my supervisor.

Earphones?
How about going with a couple of other employees to HR, not your boss, and complaining.
This is what HR is for. This guy is making your workplace bad. He needs to be counselled to behave around others well.
Wouldn't it be the same if he didn't bathe or smacked you on the butt every day?
HR.

Oh goodness; I can definitely feel your pain. I work in a mobile unit and one of the girls that used to work here used to BELCH really loudly; I don't mean burp but BELCH ... really rudely and really loudly. I just got to where I had to ignore it because our supervisor would do nothing about it (plus she was out from surgery too ... the belching bumpkin was here on a temp basis). Even comments on how rude it was or how nasty it was and even nice, kind, courteous requests for her to stop didn't work; she would belch right in your face (I mean the NASTY ones that came from like her lower intestines ... NASTY NASTY NASTY!) Sorry I am not any help but just wanted to let you know you are not the only one to have to deal with the stress of something like that ... GOOD LUCK !

There is really nothing you can do unless it is affecting your work. Then you can go to your supervisor and discuss it with them.

Otherwise, you may want to get this person aside and tell them that their office etiquette needs work. But be prepared for a belligerent mood if you do. Not all people like hearing that they are toads in public.

Talk to HR. The guy probably doesn't even know he is doing it.
Some people don't take hints well.

Or, if you have the opportunity to talk to him alone, just say in a confiding tone that he may not realize that he is doing it, but his 'noises" are disturbing other coworkers.
