Nephi says you are saved after all you can do. The Bible says in 1 Cor. that God provides us with a way to escape temptation. If we have ever sinned we have failed to use God's escape plan from temptation- thus failing the requirement of doing all we CAN do.

Where are 2 Nephi 25:23 and Moroni 10:32 reversed by the saying -"by GOd knowing we have tried our best"

ANd can you ever say you have tried your best?

catalyst- Moroni also says you need to deny ALL forms of ungodliness- if you have ever sinned you have not denied all forms of ungodliness.

It says in Moroni 10:32 that "...if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God will all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ..."

John 14:15 says "If ye love me, keep my commandments"

We cannot be saved in our sins, but if we - as Moroni says - love God will all our might, then we will - as John says - seek to keep His commandments will all our might. And when we seek to keep His commandments with all our might, then will His grace be sufficient for us, and we may be perfected in Christ.

Can I say I have tried my best? I'm not sure. But if I truly love Him will all my heart, then I know I will be.

EDIT: This is where the miracle of the Atonement of Jesus Christ comes in. The only way I can possibly be redeemed from my state of ungodliness is through His grace. But, as Moroni says, if I do not first try my very hardest to deny myself of ungodliness and humble myself before Him, then I can in nowise accept His grace. He is merciful. If I am humble before Him, and if I have done all I can, then He will redeem me.

"If we have ever sinned we have failed to use God's escape plan from temptation- thus failing the requirement of doing all we CAN do"

Well, we know very well that we have all sinned and that we will all in likelihood sin again, so that does not mean we are not doing all we can, it simply means we are humans and that we make mistakes. Doing all we can do is recognizing we have done wrong, repenting (asking God to forgive and this is where the "grace" or atonement of Christ whereby he paid for the price or punishment that we would otherwise get for our disobedience to the laws and commandments), and trying to do better. Are we perfect? Probably not, although I am sure some of us are perfect in some areas or don't have trouble in some areas, while others do.

I recommend you pick up a copy of the Miracle of Forgiveness by Spencer W Kimball. It might help your questions here.
