I have only caught his telecast a couple of times and I am just wondering what is the main focus of his "ministry?"

I have to be honest. Something about this guy doesn't settle well with me. I have caught his television shows, at first I thought they were infomercials for religious purchases/donations but just sermons, I guess.

But something about him, I can't put my finger on, doesn't seem right.

He is a young Christian pastor without theological teaching. His dad died and he took over immediately the largest church in Houston, Texas.

Right now he is doing what he knows to do and that is building up the people of God. He is a feel good preacher but the world needs to feel better about themselves.

With a church this big, he would need cell groups within the church. Many would be needed just for Bible study. The Word of God when taught as perfect love will cast out all fear.

It is dangerous to say negative things about men of God. God doesn't take lightly when His annointed are messed with.
The Bible teaches that "judgment begins in the house of God." If Joel Osteen has anything wrong in his church, God will judge the church.

At this moment in Houston, Texas, it is a great light in a dark city. Jesus walked around helping people and making them feel better. I believe it was the church folks that Jesus mentioned hell to the most.

Have a blessed day.

The main focus of his ministry is the furthering of the financial gains possible by Joel Osteen.

Jesus told everyone to avoid those who preach on the street corner, for they are getting their desire. He said to go into your closet and say your prayers. I think Joel Osteen is like most of the rest...a guy who found a great way to make a living.

I actually don't mind him as far as Christians go. He got a lot of flack after an interview where he would not say that unbelievers go to hell, and he said that the people in India "loved the Lord." It is sad that so many Christians have to be so narrow they need all the dogmatic crap about heaven and hell, etc. If Christianity wants to survive in the future beyond a fringe element of extremists, there will have to be more Joel Osteens. His message is fine. It just doesn't cater to the intolerant.

None. Joel Osteen is senior pastor at Lakewood Church, a non-denominational evangelical Christian megachurch in Texas. It is the largest church in the United States, averaging more than 43,000 in attendance per week. God bless you.

Making us all feel good. Making us feel like God is all love and he is just loving us all the time. Wrong.God is love but he is also a just God and no sinner shall enter His Kingdom. Come on joel, where are your sermons on repentance, wrath, justice, eternal security, how to share the gospel, sin and the scariest word that no one likes to hear..Hell? It is basically all about "only positive preaching," but not all that is necessary for salvation and true Christian growth. They will have manifest problems in the future.

(2 Tim 4:3) "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;"

(Acts 20:27) "For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God."

(John 3:36) "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."

(2 Th 1:8-10) "In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: {9} Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; {10} When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day."

Its all about the Benjamins baby, Benjamins.

These poor guys build prisons for themselves. You see it time and time again. They make a career out of selling God and their version of morality, make millions of dollars doing it, and then realize that they can't enjoy the money, because there are too many eyes scrutinizing their actions.

Eventually they all end up banging prostitutes, who the trust will keep their mouths shut, because they cannot trust anyone of their religious friends.

They then are crucified for their mistakes by the loving flock they created and loose it all.

Its got to be a terrible life, no wonder they turn to drugs.
