The last time we drove from Florida to Wisconsin we drove 24 hours before we got a room. The last time I went to Pittsburgh getting through the airports kicked my butt. Flying to Atlanta is hard because the airport is so huge. It takes a lot of stamina to get through Hartsfield airport. I try to use my energy to get the most mileage but also not to end up comatose with fatigue. Hubby is drive like hell and you'll get there person. I'm a okay I need to stop and stretch my legs and use the bathroom and get a drink person.

I think we take it easier when travelling not so much because we get tired due to being older but rather that with age has come wisdom. We know it makes more sense to take things easy and arrive at our destination reasonably fit instead of exhausted and ready for a long nap.

When I travel with my husband, he isn't too worried about getting to the airport on time, so I worry. We have tons of fun together, but the time element gets me. When I travel with my dad, who is 91, it's very nerve-racking. I have to stand outside the men's room door to make sure he doesn't wander off, and if I buy him a meal or snack in the airport, he's upset about the prices. When I travel alone, I get to the airport waaaaaaaaaaay early, go to the bar and have a drink or two, get on the plane, have a nice quiet read all the way there, get picked up by family members. Oh, you are so right about the Atlanta airport! Better go into training, first!

Not really, the last time I traveled was to Grove, Oklahoma and that was in 1995 when I still worked for Montgomery Ward. Since then the farthest I have been from where I live is my older brother's house 3 hours away in Hollister, CA.

I prefer to travel at a more leisurely pace, stop and look around, take it easy, explore. I am kind of a travel the back roads and byways person. I get too stressed out with hurry hurry get there fast, and then I am too tired to enjoy myself at my destination. If I am going to visit, I just fly, with one suitcase and one carryon, so I can spend as little time traveling as possible and extend my visit. I have always been that way, tho, so I guess nothing has changed with age.

I drove myslef from NC to Idaho at 58, I started out after rush hour had let up and drove till it was starting to get dark and then did it again. I don't drive after dark anymore unless I know exactly where I am going. Plight of getting old and not seeing well.

No. When I take long trips now it is usually with my good friend and we take turns driving. We both like to take frequent brakes for food, bathroom, smoke, and stretch our legs. My real long trips have been taken with three good friends. We have driven thousands of miles together. We stop for the sites, and all the rest. I do love traveling.

Yes, I could do the 24 hour straight hauls in younger years, but not anymore. I have to break up the trip into two days for what I could do in a long one day trip before.

We allow lots of time to take it easy and stretch and eat and drink and use the bathroom and see the sights. No reason to hurry anymore.
