.... came on site the next morning and thought, wow! I got some good exercise last night? (mental exercise, I mean.)

I guess my question is: How did you feel the next day?

The question by a LDS Y!Aer (cut and pasted below my questions) needs to be followed up with this question:

Do you think God's Word in the Bible is insufficient, and that the Holy Spirit is insufficient?

What revelations have your prophets made that have added doctrine that isn't in the Bible? If none of the revelations are extra-Biblical (not in the Bible or contradictory to the Bible) why do you need a prophet?

Here's the original question:

I have a question for christians who are not mormons...?
I'm a mormon, a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints. And I just don't understand how you would believe that god wouldn't appoint a new prophet after christ!!! I find it hard to believe that god would leave you on your own...

If God is ALL KNOWING, then why would he need to test Abraham's faith?

Genesis 22:1-12
1 Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, "Abraham!"
"Here I am," he replied.

2 Then God said, "Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about."

3 Early the next morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about. 4 On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. 5 He said to his servants, "Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you."

An old college friend and I have started to email each other, although I'm not sure "where it's at" right now. I think we're trying to figure out if there's a spark?

Besides being myself, what should I write to make the letter more attractive to him? I don't want to just seem "friendly" yet I don't want to be over-the-top or desperate. He's written a couple of long letters to me and made a lot suggestions to meet, altho. that has yet to happen. I've always made the mistake of being too "open" in the past so I want to leave him intrigued at least a little.

PS. Is there a rule about how long I should wait btwn emails?

Thanks!

(I know some of you are going to feel the need to correct my spelling of Babbleon but there is no need. I bet theres no stopping some of you.)

Santa is a bad imitation of our all knowing and wise Father/Mother GOD, but he is more user friendly, like the "Stay Fresh Dough Boy" in GHOST BUSTERS.

I think that is why RC's choose to pray to people like Mary instead of ("before") God.

It is not the Shaddow who "Knows what evil lurks in the heartss of men".

It is not Santa who "Knows if you've been bad or good".

GOD is a bit like the elephant in the room no one will talk about. Unbelievers CHOOSE not to see that this universe is God's calling card.

Be good,
Michael

I just read in the news that the mother of the Omaha mall shooter apologized. What that is indeed a nice gesture, I think that he and only HE should be made accountable for his actions. What do the rest of you think...should parents be held responsible when adult children break the law?

Also, with which (if any) religion do you identify, and how (if at all) does this influence your views on gender roles?

I think I asked this on my old account (RIP) but I don't remember.

I find it disturbing that religious nutters in America want to limit teaching what is pretty much the foundation of modern science

I just want to know how to best wish my Pagan friends a Blessed Yule. I think it's the general season, but are there any specific days I can give them greetings? Maybe the Solstice? As you can see, I am absolutely ignorant on the subject. Thanks!

Mine was a kids colored sand play set. You put colored sand into these clear plastic animal forms and plug up the whole. It was from my mom's friend, to me, which was very kind. I just happened to have been 25 or so at the time.

You?

This is specifically for christians who have women preacher/ministers/etc.

The Bible says:

let the women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but let them be in subjection, as also saith the law.

And if they would learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home: for it is shameful for a woman to speak in the church.

1 Corinthians 15:34-35.

How do you feel about that?
