When I think of famous creationists I think of Dr. Dino, and that is not a good assocation.

But I just learned that Ben Stein is a creationist and ID advocate.

I've always been a fan of Ben Stein; I loved his game show and his acting cameos, and I think it's cool that he was a speechwriter for the White House.

I'm not personally a creationist/"anti-evolutionist" but if I was I'd be pretty happy to be associated with Ben Stein, who's a pretty smart guy.

I guess the question here is: did you know that Ben Stein is a creationist? Do you know any other famous creationists who are actually kind of cool? (For the record, Kent Hovind isn't cool.)

I am not knocking anyone down. I am just asking.

This country is a little ridulous with the amount of broken families, children not knowing their father etc.

Why do people decide to bring forth a life in this world without considering the child's well being?

Or do you just read the map of what they did? Jesus meditated in the desert for 40 days? Moses meditated on Mt. Sinai. John the Revelator took some medicine to get those visions. Paul of Tarsas fell off a horse and talked directly to Jesus. Do any of todays religious leaders do that? How can you know God if all you do is read about him? Isn't that like saying you're a master Carpenter because you read the Home Depot book on Carpentry?

My mom is very generous and financially secure. If she wants it, she buys it. I just returned from a trip to Europe, which she paid for, because she wanted to share the experience with me. I want to show my appreciation (of course I thanked her) and give her something special. She's a photographer so she has plenty of pictures of our trip, etc. Any ideas?

I grew up worrying I'd been left behind if I couldn't hear anyone in the house, occasionally, If i haven't heard from any of my Christian friends or family all day, then go home and no-one's there but should be, I still do!

I'm not scared, I can't wait to be with Jesus! I guess it's the being left behind thing I'm anxious about...

ok so heres my story when i was 13 i had a gay relastionship with someone, now i'm 17 and i've tryed to have a boyfriend but when ever they try to toutch me or kiss me a get sick, i feel like i'm forcing myself to be stright because i'm a christian and i love Jesus so i dont want to do the wrong thing,

but when ever i think back to a old girlfriend i just remember how much i loved her and how when she kissed me it felt so right like i was really being true to myself,

my questions are

why is being gay worse then any other sin?

where in the bible dose it say its wrong?

and how can loving someone of the same sex be wrong?

Pastor Marilyn Hickey, on her Today show, said that she was in Egypt and visited a museum where there was a mummy room and she noticed one mummy which had a white face compared with the others. She asked the museum guide what that meant and the museum guide said that was the Pharoah which drown in the Red Sea pursuing Moses. The water had turned the Pharoah's face white by the time they were able to fish his body out of the Red Sea.

Anyone else ever been to Egypt and told the same thing by the Egyptian mummy museum guide?

I like to donate when I can. I am currently based in the UK. Is it best to give to DEC, International Red Cross, Medicin Sans Frontieres or International Rescue Committee, or donate to other individual charities? Sometimes they all seem to be appealling for the same assistance in the same areas ?
I guess donating to any of them is good, but if anyone can offer any advice, t'would be much appreciated, thanks

I don't mean to offend anybody with this question, it's just something I was thinking. Santa Claus is considered by children to be omniscient (he knows everything everybody does). He is also powerful enough to violate the laws of physics (he delivers presents all around the world in a single night, and is capable of climbing up chimneys despite his size).

He is benevolent (he gives good people presents) but also punishes the wicked (with coal). Santa also sets up a system of reward and punishment based on one's moral virtue.

In light of all these similarities, is it possible that the reason the myth of Santa Claus survives is because it prepares children to believe in God?
