Hi,
I am translating a text about aggregate production systems. I am not sure that I understand "natural quarried rock" in the following sentence:
"These machines are capable of handling natural quarried rock"
Thanks a lot in advance!

Quarried rock is usually obtained by blasting with dynamite and the pieces are not only irregular but sometimes very large. I imagine it means that it can handle these pieces as opposed to regularly shaped cut stone.

..."machines capable of___________..."

Gives the connotation of the handling equipment being of the nature that it is capable of transporting, conveying, screening & storing angular chunks of broken rock.

Since your topic refers to aggregate I assume you are referring to Aggregte Base Rock, Concrete Aggregate, AC Aggregate,Pea Gravel, Rod Mill, Quarry Run, and various grades of fill materials.

The operation of such a facility has numerous points at which clogging, spilling and excessive wear on equipment surfaces can take place. The Materal Handling Properties are thus figured into custom design to meet these criteria.

The pricipal categories for such products are crushed rock, and stream gravel.

Crushed rock is angular exhibits "lock-up" when placed in a fill or even when bunched up in a hopper--its nature is interlocking---gives good lateral strength to an engineered fill.

Stream gravel is sub-angular to rounded rock flows easily does not usually "lock-up" poor lateral strength in an engineered fill. More desirable in concrete aggregate becasue of its flow, vertical loading property equal to crushed rock. This rock is slippery !

Natural quarried to me implies drilled/blasted
or even broken with percussive equipment, ie crushed rock--usually broken out of some rock bed rather than dug from a gravel bank.

Crushed has more wear on equipment surfaces than stream due to its rough angular
shape, also more prone to hang up on line.

I make no acounting to the nature and amount of fines in the aggegate since this is basically what is controled by the equipment(screening) to meet a particular specification----it is however a MAJOR factor in material flow properties, particularly as to moisture content.

I would think they are rocks that have come loose naturally rather than being taken out by machine. Big boulders you see along the highways through mountain areas and such.

Jesus did. It's in the Bible. Here is the reference. Matthew 16:21 From that time Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day. 22 Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, "God forbid it, Lord! This shall never happen to You." 23 But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God's interests, but man's." Jesus said this to Peter because he was giving Jesus bad councel that would have thwarted what He came to do. Satan is the adversary and seeks to thwart God's will. When people act or advise something that would thwart God's will, they are wittingly or unwittlingly doing Satan's bidding. So get behind me Satan. Don't thwart me from God's purpose.
