Does the name have a relationship with the bird called an olw? Why is this name written in red? Is red the only color for the word, YAHOO!? Does the YAHOO! name have any relationship with the term, yah, as it is heard from a cattleruslter or someone using a whip on a horse? Could you please tell me how many countries use YAH00! ...have you really indicated to them that they have snatched a bit of the deceased person's soul and kept it for their own? And, are they under any obligation to give it back even though they are suffering sorrow? They say that God makes the rules and not them so they are not judging. But I feel judged! I will not repent for my baby. He was mean to be, married or not! How is that rebelling when i am standing up for my baby and me? Sayign that I need to be saved is judgning me!

Matthew 16:19: "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

Who received this power? What could be bound, and what loosed? What did Jesus mean about binding and loosing in heaven? Who has this power today?

I have different spiritual beliefs. I don't follow the relgion of my family. They think that I have sinned. I think they are judging me, but apparently they are not, 'God made the rules, not them'. So they are not judging me because I broke an obvious law of God. I will not repent because I have a baby and if I repent for that sex, than I am basically saying "I should not have had this child'. This child was went to be and I am EXTREMELY offended that I am expect to repent for having sex which brought my beautiful baby into the world. I think that they are judging! But they say that they do accept me and the baby, and that I should not aruge with them, I should take it to God. It drives me nuts!!! I will not repent for the sex that brought another human into the world. My baby was meant to be. And me standing up for myself is now rebelling against god. AHHH. Am I wrong?

With all the wars.. scientific discoveries.. Al Gore movies.. going "green".. ect.. where is our religion going in this 21st century??
Religion has come a long, long way and has been around for a long, long time. It has made its way in to hundreds of different cultures evolving into new religions in order for it to continue to spread.
Is this a turning point for religion? Will there be some sort of new "hippy".. enviromental spin off of the traditional christianity that we have today? People are looking for answers to why things happen, why they exsist, where they came from. Science can give answers with proof. Therefore, faith is no longer required if seeing is believing. Do you think that some of our basic practices will fade away.. like the concept of faith or prayer?
Where do you think this will be in 50 years? Will it make the world a better place? Or is this just another cause to fight a war over?

i experienced something in the hospital room with my mom a few days before she died. she and i are bible believing christians. i did not see anything, only felt it. she felt it too and we were afraid. although i do believe in spirits like the holy ghost which i know exist because i feel him move in my heart. i have never experienced something spiritual that scared me. we prayed loud and demanded it leave the room. and the fear left with it. have any of u experienced anything like this? and if so please tell me. and also if anybody can give me some scriptures to study on this subject please list them. i really need to understand this. i am not comfortable talking to about this to people i know. some just think i am depressed and imagining things. this was not my imagination. it was as real as u or me. only it took no visible form. i was looking for it!!! serious answers only please !!!

I went to a college basketball game this weekend, and when the National Anthem was played 75% of the people didnt even bother to put their hands over their hearts. The whole scene just infuriated me, of how people take for granite the freedomes they have, and the time to honor that they act as if they're encumberd by the whole thing. What happend to patriotism?

this is a simple question, Antioch is a petarian see but it is not listed as first or second among the anchient patriachates- it is listed as 4th? Why is this the case if the early Church carred about petarian sucession then why would it not be second?
Why dose it look like the early church listed Patriarchates in order of the cities- size/wealth?

I think we all agree that Fred Phelps and his band of loonies does not represent the Christian faith, but there are a few things that are quite widespread and do tend to rise to that level of lunacy but which people don't seem to be appalled by. I think their lack of outrage comes from just not knowing how big a problem it is.

I the brand of Christianity I'm speaking of usually claims no "denomination" like Baptist, Presbyterian, Catholic, LDS, but they just refer to themselves as "Christians," which makes it hard for people to say how crazy they are because we come off insulting the entire religion, which is not the intent. Sometimes they claim to be Evangelical, but the same problem applies: not all Evangelicals fall into this category. I *think* Pentecostal may be the closest we have, but the same situation may still exist.

Are these not, even in some small way, contradictory? One of the advantages of being an Atheist is the knowledge that there is only one life to live, and after that...oblivion (or 'Wormfood' as the less poetical of us will intone). This is all there is, so we'd best make the most of it.

That's certainly my stance. I'd also like to consider myself an Environmentalist...and recently I've been questioning why it is I care so much. In my lifetime there is likely to be some detrimental effect to the Environment, but not nearly as much as my next generation and the generation after that. Yet it's natural for me to have these concerns.

I suppose a lot of the pendants will tell me that all Atheism is the lack of belief in God, no more no less.

Anyway, what is your stance towards Athiesm and Environmentalism?
