i think every ones personal experience would be different. i believe every woman has the right to decide whether to have an abortion. there are certain circumstances where an abortion is necessary. and as a mother of four ,i still say every woman has the right to make a decision. i think whatever the decision the person makes, its going to be a painful choice either way. i don't think any one has the right to judge anyone. i speak from experience as i got pregnant at the very young age of 16. i refused to have an abortion, and stayed with my partner for over 6 years. my beautiful daughter is now nearly 18,and i wouldn't be without her,but do wish i could turn back time, and had her later on in life.
people are to quick to be judge and jury on someone Else's life and situations. the only one who has the true right to judge you as a person is yourself. to much negativity and nastiness cloud people's minds. take care. warm regards

Who are you to judge that the child...ill-begotten by previous misbehavior, would have a short, crappy, unhappy life? They have medications that can treat the baby and the survival rate of HIV infected persons is going up as new treatments are being utilized everyday. As well, babies, newborns are 3 times as likely to be cured of HIV if administered treatement right away than any adult contracting the desease. Look it up. No matter how you twist it...abortion is taking the decision of ending a life in your own hands when you simply cannot know and there are so many other choices out there. With only one scenario can it be considered completely understandable...when a very young child is raped or molested. Still, abortion if not caught early could be even more traumatic than pregnancy. Read a book called Lime 5 and you will see what I mean. It wasn't written by anti-abortion pro life groups but by women and medical professionals lobbying congress to make it illegal for a woman to have an abortion without counceling and having ALL the risks disclosed. Any murder is a sin. Life is always a better choice. Love in Christ, ~J~

It's still a sin. It's not for you to decide whether your child lives or dies. For all you know they can come out without getting AIDS at all. It's also not the child's fault if the baby's father is a married guy that you chose to sleep with. I say if you don't want the baby, give it up for adoption. Someone out there will want that little angel. Even if the baby were to end up with AIDS. Maybe they were better off living. You should not decide if the child's life is worth living. They could be a great blessing to those around no matter if they end up with AIDS or if they come out without getting AIDS.

(I'm using you in general, I know the question is hypothetical.)

There is a possibility that the child will not be born with aids, also there may be a cure found that would give the child a long healthily life. What is worse in my opinion is to knowingly have done the things that cause this situation and in America the woman is guilty of murder. Any way you look at this the woman has committed numerous sins and at lease one crime.

That to me is a no win situation,I would say why is the stupid woman getting pregnant for when she is carrying the aids virus,I would also be stuck about the abortion deal, with modern drugs maybe the child could have a much longer life than expected, but there again in the real world only the rich get the treatment they need....a toughie that one...oh I don't do sin either so thats out of the equation to start with....

Abortion (killing the human fetus) is worse than giving the child a chance at life. Life is sacred. ALL forms of life, even the life that faces tough challenges. Challenges make us stronger, spiritually and morally.

A child who is born with a mother who has AIDS and an absent father can still have a wonderful, productive and meaningful life. (There are ways to protect the child from contracting HIV, btw.)

But as always, prevention is the best medicine. The situation is BEST handled by people not having affairs when they are married and single people not having sex so that they don't contract HIV or other STDs.

Well, if you have AIDS, you should have been more careful....

It is a sin on so many levels.... 1 - No sex before marriage 2- sleeping with another womans husband 3-killing someone else, (unborn baby) is always a sin!

I don't understand why if a man kills a woman that is pregnant today he has to pay for killing the woman and unborn baby.. Yet, you can go out and legally kill your baby, abort it.... Doesn't make sense!

If you cause suffering, that will cause you mental anguish. Always choose the least harm. A woman will not make the decision to terminate pregnancy casually (i hope), why burden her with guilt to boot.
It should be a private decision for her, and her alone.
If the father wants to carry the unborn child he should be like male sea horse, if not zip your mouth, the father was the accident.
If a limb has gangrene, you amputate the limb, the unborn fetus is no different. The so called leaders who oppose are a bunch of .....

1- It is possible for an HIV positive mother not to pass on the virus to the baby.

2- The baby may contract HIV and die after a short life, or it may not, but there is no telling what God may have planned for that child's life, or what a blessing he will be to someone else.

3- If the mother is dying, she may as well die without having killed her child. Better to do God's will and leave the baby in his hands instead of trying to decide something that she really doesn't know the outcome of.

Abortion is just a matter of exercise on the rationality of a given consequences. No string attached to any religious dogma nor the fundamental law of the land. It's a judgment call and only the bearer should decide to unload.
