I was raise old school and taught to hold open doors for ladies, to say please and thank you for courtesies that were extended to me, to give up a seat for elderly people and pregnant women, etc. It seems that in the past decade and/or generation or so, these common courtesies are seldom seen. Is it because the younger generation were not taught these things ? Is it because everyone is too busy or involved in their own existence to really care ? Do you think todays moral/ethical values are being misplaced ? Do you see this world in general, becoming a more hostile enviornment due to world circumstances ? What are your thoughts on the reasons for these changes ?

Question: Which seems more like a family to you

1) A lone Father and his son, all alone, with no mother, and a bunch af brothers and sisters in some catatonic comatose sleep state
2) A Father AND a loving mother, brothers and sisters who are always celebrating feast days and birthdays, and come together every day to break bread at their Father's table?

The Catechism Of The Catholic Church speaks about the "supernatural appreciation of faith (sensus fidei)" as a "characteristic" of the "body of the faithful". Catholics and protestants can sling Bible quotes all day, but when I put all the scriptures aside for a moment, my "sensus fidei" tells me that number 2 (above), which is the Catholic view of the Church, is far more loving and familial than number 1 (above), which is the barren, stripped down vision of my seperated brothers and sisters, the protestants

So which choice, 1 or 2, seems more like a family to YOU ?

If yes, Would you please help me?

Last night, I was a real "jerk" by being rather mean to "Marie A". I blocked her and sent her an e-mail that false accused her. Today I felt bad, (I was advised she was one of us regulars in the past and was suspended and is just now coming back to Yahoo.) So I unblocked her. Whoops! now I cannot find her e-mail address to send her an apology.

So I was just wondering, would you mind clicking on her 360 page and add her to your friends list, and tell her "Uncle Wayne admits he was a "jerk", and he wants you to forgive him."

Did I ask for a sampling of your ignorance? The man named Jesus did exist, you choose not to follow him as our Lord and Savior. :) Admit it!

Are you just trying to get your opinion out there? Or recruit more atheists or...what? Tell me.
Respectful answers appreciated. No dumb answers, I don't want any reporting...R-E-S-P-E-C-T!
hint: Answering this question by saying that he did not exist is not smart. I am open to choosing atheists who give me a rational answer to be allowed 10 pts! :)

If you answered YES, then your church is NOT the church founded by Jesus Christ.

By its Christ-given authority, the Catholic Church canonized the New Testament in the late 4th century. But Jesus founded His Church in the FIRST century, with Peter as the first pope. Here is a list of popes:
http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/12272b.htm

So, the Bible is Church based: The Church is not Bible based. Among the Christian churches, only the Catholic Church has existed since the time of Jesus. Every other church is an offshoot of the Catholic Church. The Eastern Orthodox churches broke away from unity with the pope in 1054. The protestant churches were established during the Reformation, which began in 1517. Only the Catholic Church existed in the tenth century, in the fifth century, and in the first century, faithfully teaching the doctrines given by Christ to the apostles, omitting nothing.

I got up Sunday morning, and when I turned on the TV, Joel Osteen was on. It was the end of his program and he asked everyone watching to say some words with him. I don't remember exactly what they were, but, just for fun, I did.

He said that I was now "born again" and saved. Is this true?

Even thought I've previously done the blasphemy challenge dozens of times?

When I attend church, everyone is screaming, hollering and have their arms wide open, plus some people are speaking in tongues (and/or running around). Why does that not phase me? I read the Bible, and know the word. I feel that I am a Christian. Yet, I do not understand attending church, and the patrons activities.

how do you explain the evolution of dinosaurs, did God create them too because there is no mention of them in any religious scriptures. There is deffinate evidence that dinosaurs existed a long time before humans, so if they were living then, how does it fit in with God creating the earth later when it was already there
