There seems to be little response to your actual question. It is about Catholicism and Eastern Orthodox churches view of Mary.

A common title given to Mary by the Eastern Orthodox churches, and echoed by Catholics, is "theotokos." It is translated as "God bearer" or "Mother of God." The word is a combination of the Greek words for "God" and "childbirth."
This title is an affirmation of Jesus as true God and true man, conceived through the Holy Spirit and born to us through the womb of Mary.

Mary for both the Eastern and Western churches is as the prime example of a follower of Jesus. The angel declared her full of grace and she is exemplary in her faith, hope, love of God and concern for others.

We honor Mary like our very own mom as Christ stated to do. She is seen to be the 1st amoung the saints, the Roman catholics use the term queen of heaven which and coremer neither are used interior the Orthodox church. the two use the term mom of God or theotokos as Christ is God. Ther term mom of christ isn't enjoyed because it style of feels to seprate and deney Christ's devinity you could look at this concern relating to nestorius. She stated particular so the fruit of her womb save our souls

Grace unto you, and peace,
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Angel Gabriel obviously lied to Mary when telling her she had partiality; For "respect of persons" is neither good nor Godly, which we are told often, from 2Chronicles to 1Peter. Hence we find in Galatians 1:8,9 that even if an "angel" brings you another gospel, let him (not you) be accursed by it; And in Revelation we're told an angel is a star, or a church leader; And in 1Corinthians 15:41 we're told even stars differ in glory; And again in Revelation 12 Mary had a crown of twelve stars. But both the old and new twelve were as a hung jury that couldn't agree on anything, and Judas "also" betrayed him. Peter denied him thrice, and did it twice. Twice fallen? And if a little leaven leavens the whole? Let us have 1 star(Christ: the end of law) and 1 crown of righteousness(grace).

Not to mention Jesus called his mother "Woman", twice,
and neither John 2:4 nor John 19:26 were a compliment.

JESUS became THE CHRIST became US.
Law vs Grace-->End of the law-->Grace us.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Roman Catholics are devoted to Mary because she was chosen by God to be the earthly mother of His child.

Simple:
1) Jesus obeyed the commandments perfectly, including "Honor Thy Mother and Father"
2) We immitate Christ

I suggest you go to this link:
http://www.catholic.com/library/mary_saints.asp
and read about the Catholic understanding of Mary

If you ever have other questions about the Catholic Church, may I suggest that you go to Catholic Answers at http://www.catholic.com and then look at the left sidebar: You will see many subjects. You can click on one and see tracts that will probably answer your questions. Also, the search engine will search 20 years worth of articles from "This Rock" magazine. There are a lot of great articles there too

Also, the"official" Catechism Of The Catholic Church is online at: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/entiretoc1.htm
This is a difficult document to read. (The book is about three inches thick!) But, there is a wealth of information there too if you take the time to learn how to navigate it.

She is the mother of our Lord. So, we ask her for help, just like you may ask for strength from a deceased relative. Nothing more.
