The Golden Compass may seem like a fun fantasy movie cut it's not. It's an attack on Christians. I myself wanted to see the movie untill i heard what it's about. It makes demons seem like cute little creatures, which their not. Is this the impression we want kids to have of demons?

if we worship them/him/her a certain way or not.

it seems to me that if something was so powerful that it could create a universe, but it never converses with its creation, it really wouldn't care what we call it, or if we worship it.

it cant be harmed, or killed, so why should it worry about what we do??

How hard and how unnatural would it be to write a longish paragraph in the first person, about yourself, without revealing your sex?
Like in English it's quite easy, since adjectives and most nouns don't change for males vs. females. In French you'd have to go out of your way to call yourself "une personne" so the adjective would agree with "personne" and not "je". In some languages gender is shown on the verb or on possessive articles ("my"). Which of these are true of Spanish?

Consider people whose line of work is to detect fake money. Do they know what is fake by handling what is fake? I believe that the best way to have the discernment to know what is fake from true is to handle the genuine article. So much so that you know it's texture taste feel look.
Should we be like this as believers. Knowing the truth in the word so much and having the inner anointing of the Holy Spirit teaching and leading and guiding us into all truth that the minute false teachings and fake things come to you RIGHT AWAY your spirit discerns and is sharp to know that something is amiss. Even if this thing ' appears " to be the real deal. Deep in your spirit you know that this is not of the Lord.
May we be so burdened about our own sensitivity as believers. How quickly is the Lord able to get through to us regarding all the things that we see here on the forum. What do you believe you need to be doing as a believer to sharpen this kind of function of your spirit?

...when a huge amount of material from that source is used in church manuals, instruction materials, books, quotes, etc.

Do you ever say, "Well, that's from the Journal of Discourses, which isn't an official church publication, so it's probably wrong," when you are reading the Priesthood and Relief Society manuals or accounts in the Ensign?

What, you get to pick and choose from the same source which are the historically correct quotes and which aren't?

I'm am truly amazed at how this works, especially since many of the "anti" quotes taken from this publication are supported by numerous other sources (pioneer diaries, letters, newspapers, magazines, etc.)

It seems that some people just want to put their fingers in their ears and chant, "I can't hear you," whenever someone brings up a point that might challenge their beliefs.

According to the Bible God sent His Son into the world to do His will. This involved many hard to understand things. Of course He must: correct the traditions of man regarding His laws; fulfill all prophesy regarding His coming; live a perfect and sinless life: heal the sick, cast out demons, raise the dead; be tortured and killed in the most inhumane and horrible manner known to man and He must shed His blood for the remission of sins. He then must be buried for three days and after that be raised from the dead. He then must be seen of many and ascend back to His Father in heaven. This final act on earth at His first coming completes His mission with zero defects and accomplished all the will of the Father. According to the Bible we as humans must believe these things and trust in Him for our salvation or we are damned forever.

If this is true, which I know it is, what would you do to those who rejected and spurned your only begotten Son's work on earth and what will God do

atheist - belives in no being just evolution.

eggnostic - believes in a being just not sure what it is. for example, a person who dosn't believe in the bible but believes that everything is controlled by something.

and y do atheists have to have proof. it's like, there so shallow they need actul proof because faith isn't enough. look outsside your window, all the beautiful trees and wildlife. how do u think that all got there, i suppsoe evolution just made it right?

If Jesus' blood really allows us to go throughout life sinning to our heart's content and still make it to Heaven then why did Paul say in his letter to the Romans that Jesus' grace is -not- a free pass for us to embrace the carnal, sinful nature that we are born with?
