I would say its a pretty even case between the two with animals just pipping the post.
I would donate to both.

I think people feel more sympathy towards animal charities as they don't receive the publicity and funding of childrens charities and usually have to rely on kind people giving donations to them or organising an event to raise money for them.
Personally, i will only donate to animal charities and air ambulance only.

I would donate to WWF. To save the whole world.
I think childrens charities recieve the more because children are actual people. Which is why i would donate to animal charities.
If i were rich i would donate to both of course.
Merry Christmas xx

I donate to animal charities. They don't get any government money. I mean illnesses are treated by doctors and hospitals which are run by our taxes. I know they could do with more money but animals get sod all and they are part of our lives. I mean, its even a well known fact that fussing and looking after pets and animals is therapeutic, it can help people get better or help people who suffer with things like autism. I just love animals and I think its terrible how they can be treated so awfully and be neglected by people. I don't care if somebody don't want to look after themselves, but when an innocent animal is involved it really gets me. Nobody speaks up for animals. And sometimes a pets company can be far better than that of any person.

You could well be right and I don't know why that is!
I don't give to charity too often because there are too many inadequate people in cushty jobs working for £30-40,000 p.a. who wouldn't last 5 minutes in the private sector.
However, If I do support charities it is :-
1 The NSPCC
2 The charity that provides optometrists to go to Africa to improve people's eyesight.
3 War veterans charities such as the Poppy Appeal
4 The RNLI.
Those are MY favourites.

Children's charities have gotten a bad rep in the past 10 or 20 years for many of them not being legit. I'm not sure that either children's or animal charities really get much money, it's AIDS and cancer charities that really rake in the money.

I will donate to any charity that does not have it's headquarters in London. If you can afford London office rent and salaries then you do not need my charity! Move to a cheaper part of the country and you will half your costs and therefore have more to give to the charity!

I would give to most any charity. But not the RSPCA. Since the new animal act was brought in, the RSPCA are now on the campaign trail to prosecute the disadvantaged and the elderly in addition anyone else who becomes an easy target for them to take to court, remove their pet/s and deny the person to keep pet/s for "X" number of years plus a hefty fine.
I know: I used to work with the RSPCA. I left. Their bad news, despite what good they appear to do.

I'd donate to a kidney or diabetes charity as I've been affected by these illnesses.
I suspect that children's nd animal charities get a good deal of money.
