It all depends on if you can tell the difference between a fictional story and a real one.
Oh, but then again, you think the Bible is real. I see your problem.

Daemons in the movie are very different from the demons you're thinking of. Your daemon is an animal representation of your soul, a familiar that guides you through life and acts as your conscience. They're that little voice in your head, only in a physical body.
Secondly, the movie is not an attack on Christians, and neither are the books. Both the movie and the books show how power corrupts, and are against dictatorship and for freedom. The movie especially is no more anti-Christian than Harry Potter.

So let me get this straight, you know what Demons look like? Have you ever seen one, or are you just assuming that they don't look cute. As for the Golden Compasses attack on Christianity I think it's ironic, after Christianity has attacked almost everything under the sun the have the balls to ***** about about fantasy movie.

What should we do? Calm down. What about the hundreds of other extremely sexual, violent, swear plagued movies out there? Are those any less "terrible" according to God? I am saying this from a Christian point of view to let you know. I think we "Christians" are going way overboard. Like I said, what's the difference between extremely violent, sexual, and swear plagued movies and the Golden Compass in God's eyes?

My Christian friends who have seen it accept it for what it is.... a fictional work. No one I have talked to has felt personally attacked by it. My suggestion: don't see the movie if you're so worried about it, and let the rest of us make up our minds for ourselves.
P.S. How do you KNOW demons aren't cute little creatures? Wouldn't it be to their ADVANTAGE to appear cute and fuzzy? It would draw a lot more people in, temptation-wise, to look cute. That's why you gotta watch out for things like that!

If you don't like the content, don't go to the movies.
Of course, it would only make sense for you to
never go to the movies again. After all, there is no
such thing as Superman, but I haven't seen any protests.
Better skip Spiderman, anything with Santa, any movie
with speaking animals, all movies with flying people content,
oops, let's not forget Transformers.
My, we're just getting started here. Please.
If you believe in demons, stay home.

Fallacy: assuming facts not in evidence.
Please present evidence for your claims. To date I have seen no explanation for why this movie is bad. Just countless complaints about how it is an attack on Christians. No explanation, just the baseless claims by people who have neither read the trilogy or viewed the film.
Do we want kids to reject fictional works because it may shatter their religious indoctrination?
Demons are fictional. Some authors use them in a negative sense, others in a positive. What's the problem with that?

For God's sake...Christians should just SFTU and quit being lemmings when it comes to zealots...you watched every other fantasy movie...what's the friggin difference???
Did you not watch any other movie because some group of zealots told you it was "anti-something or other" or did you use common sense???

It is a real pity that you have condemned something before you have even seen it.
And for your information, the animals in that movie, are NOT demons.
Christianity at its finest. Close minded, and small minded.

Get your knickers out of a knot - it's a work of fiction. I am a Christian and am looking forward to seeing it.
