The body is animated by our spirit, without the spirit the body can not function.
In today's world spirits are said to be mental disorders, but Jesus told us concerning mental disorders in Luke 11:24-26
When the unclean spirit goes out of a man (the body dies) it wanders in dry places seeking rest, until a new body is prepared for it. Only after the spirit's memory has been swepted and emptied and the body has been made male or female (garnished) can the spirit enter and dwell within, but because it is unclean it must take 7 other spirits with it and there they all live in the body together. The host must over come his sins of past lives, but theirs also. Most can not therefore this life of the body and soul is worse than the past life.
Think of the other things that having 7 other spirits in the same body as your spirit would do ?

No people have never been possessed by demons are spirits. What really happened is in Jesus time was people that were "possessed by spirits" were in fact victims of various mental illnesses.

The bible talks about the end times, being both more dark and more light then ever before.
Basically there are more people on the earth, so it results in more demon possessed guys and more true believers too.
in many cases demon posessed guys are being treated with medicine and so, saying they have various of mental or physical disorders. Often their issues are caused by trauma, or affliction in the past; by growing up in a bad enviroment.
When no medicine really works, they need to hear about Jesus christ, for Jesus can really set them free!
They need to hear about how they can be cured wether or medicine works or doesn't work anyways.
but there are also many sicknesses perfectly curable with medicine, and a time to heal.
The bible says that God loves and cares about every individual, and wether they believe in Him or not, He still will want them to be healed.
People who are demon posessed can easely be recognised because of their behavior. cursing, lying, stealing, murdering, adultry, and all these things are signs of people bound (not because they want it) or possessed (because they freely chose for it) by demons.
There's a saying which says: You can recognise a tree by it's fruit.
In the same way you can recognise a person by his or her behavior.
