the question you raise a bout God not communicating with his creation is not addressing your question because God left us his Word. Most any reliable biblical scholar will tell you that the Canonized Bible we have today is very accurate and reliable. please don't buy into the conspiracy theory nuts version of what the "real" bible says or is.
The primary question you raised is "why would God care" and the answer is because He cares for you deeply. He set things up in such a way so as to be of the greatest and best benefit for you (us). If God is perfect (and I believe He is) the it would only make sense that he would outline the perfect way to please Him, communicate with Him and have His best for our lives.
In the end, God is God and we are not. I am sorry to be so blunt but it is true, we have no position to tell God how to run His universe and I think we all get into trouble when we start questioning God like he owes us answers. The good part of this is that if we do as He asks, then the answers will come on their own.
God bless you and may you find peace in Him and His son Jesus Christ today.

It isn't about God\Universal Energy\the Goddess, it's about you and finding comfort that you aren't completely forgotten among the many. As for worshiping a certain way that's more a social convention than a spiritual requirement.

I think it must be very boring to spend eternity all allone.
It kind of reminded me when I was little, and had gotten a little electric train toy from my granpa, I used to create all kinds of small things, like trees from sticks, and used my little cars, and I would create a huge railtrack, and created small houses from lego logs, and used to cut toothpicks to be like people.
In this world I would put everythign very carefully; never set a person on a rail (though I loved it when I had a car on the rail, and then ramm it with the train!), yet, everything had it's place.
I was concearned about how the houses looked; they needed to have a roof, and a color. the trees needed to be bigger then the cars etc...
All this to just say that maybe God's no man. He's much more intelligent, and he cares about things being ok.
He creates a scenario; only not with dead toys and sticks, but with living beings.
He interacts between them, and loves that interaction.
kinda like a puppy and a kid.
If you had a real puppy or a teddybear, I think the real puppy would give you more pleasure (as well as more trouble too)!

A rather long time ago, I heard (and i don't even remember where I heard or read it now) that the more followers and worshippers a deity has, the more powerful it is. It seems rather foolish that an "all powerful" deity would get that power and ability from it's followers rather than within. But that's one theory, anyway.

I believe that God does converse with his creation. I feel him tugging my heart in certain directions all the time. I know he leads me through his Holy Spirit and word(Bible.) God created us to have someone to love and to love him back. How would you feel if you love someone and they ignore you or make fun of you or do other negative things toward you?
Wouldn't you rather have the person you love so much converse with you, take pleasure in reading things that you have said, care about what you want etc.?

It would apear that you CAN worship Your God any way you see fit. And He does converse with His creation as by seasons and changes. If something don't please Him, then it gets destroyed. Things that please Him, would seem to grow and be fruitful. We may not be able to kill or harm Him, but sure can displease and disappoint Him. It would seem. But thats just me.

Because God deserves the best. Look around and look at yourself. Don't you think he is a wonderful God, making you as perfectly as you are, giving you life. Giving you all the beautiful things in life to enjoy. (Remember our heartaches and pains and caused by things we do or do not do). God gave us everything we could ever desire. He gives us to best of everything. Why would not want to give your best to him. Why give him mediocre, he did not do that to you (us). He really does talk to us his creation. The bible if God's way of communicating with us. Take for example: It says don't steal. (Isn't that a law now). Don't murder. He speaks to us through is word the bible and through is creation. Creation tells us he is powerful, and loving. He teaches us to forgive. He teaches us how to live with our neighbors, etc. He does communicate with us and he deserves the very best.

God does converse with you, his church and the leaders of His church. It is called revelation. You are entitled to revelation to help you run your life, your family. The leaders of the church are entitled to revelations to run their church. God will surly reveal anything except through His Prophet. Same today as in the beginning. God cannot change or He will no longer be God.

Let's apply your concept to ourselves.
Why should we as parents care if our children care what we think as their parents, why should our children care if parents care whether they're loved by their children or not?
