When society finally wakes up from it's religious sleep, how do we take care of the mentally ill that believed it all? With social security possibly going away, do we let the government pay for their treatment, or use the money stolen from the poor?

It's so hard not to keep your mouth shut. You hear an interesting conversation, then you without thinking butt in. Making other people mad, I apologized, but they seem forgiving, but they are still angry.

I call out all the answers to a test and it annoys people.

when someone asks a question in I just blurt out the answer, they say could you shut up noone asked you, when i really wanted to help.

I realize that this is a bad habit. And I don't know when to shut up. This is really hard, I won't stopp talking. And butt in other peoples business.

It's getting hard to stop. And everytime I do this I promise to punish myself.

How can i stop?

does the free will excuse absolve god of any responsibility to prevent any wrong from ever happening? if so, why did god interfere so much with the course of human actions in not just the old testament, but the new testament as well? we never see his interference any more. as least i haven't. rape, murder, and other crimes still exist. is god just being much more choosey about who he stops these days?

Too often, we max out the credit cards, exhaust ourselves planning or going to parties and stress about what to get who that we miss out on the joy and meaning of this time of the year.

We celebrate Christmas because it marks when Jesus came to earth. It is not Santa coming to town, reindeer prancing or trimming a tree. It is not about eating Christmas cookies till we burst, going to one dull party after another and feeling lonely after it is all said and done.

How about those "after Christmas blues"? What's that all about you say? It's about missing the meaning completely.

This year, don't miss the meaning and see the difference.

Have a very meaningful Christmas everyone!

Since we aren't all Christians, people should say socially tolerant things like "Happy Solstice", or "Hope you're having a nice day." When people say "Merry Christmas" they're being an intolerant bigot. Do you agree?

I want to do gift baskets for Christmas, because we're just starting out and really low on funds.

For my in laws we're going to do a basket including 2 movies ($5 each Wal Mart), popcorn kernels, oils, season shakers, fuzzy slippers for him and her, 2 mugs w/ cocoa packets stuck in them, a warm throw, and some homemade cookies.

Same for my mom!
For my brother we're all pitching in and getting him a wii and guitar hero (do they make that for wii?)

For my husband.... I'm thinking a waterproof watch? What kind of watches can you take w/ you to Iraq? And some massage gadgets from Wal Mart he's had his eyes on!

Do you have any other unique gift basket themes I can use?? Thanks!

There's gonna be a lot of left over churches when society wakes up, unless they burn them down before they drink the kool-aid.

I know everyone and their uncle would like to blame poverty on everything but the poor people themselves. I have tried very hard to find someone who is poor and makes good choices.

I brought this point up to some of my friends who are huge proponents of "social justice" rather than "personal responsibility".

Their theory is that the environment poor people grow up in somehow takes away their ability to make good choices and there is no way they can suceed.

I simply cannot believe that in the world we live in today.
I think we are blaming everyone and everything else but ourselves.

So I made a list of every person I know who I could consider poor. Everyone of them has multiple pets, smokes, has a nicer cell phone than me, rents instead of owning, spends a lot of money on alcohol, and has the best televison service possible.

They are poor because they waste the money they have instead of saving and trying to earn more. What do you think?

this is my first year as a maried woman, and i wanted to make everything special. we have invited all the family for christmas dinner, this includes my new mother-in-law for the first time. i wante to impress everyone(including his mom) and bought a whole new lot of tableware. what i mean by table wear, is that i have bought, a new christmas table cloth, with a runner to match, place mats to match, and napkins to match, with napkin rings.i was really pleased with these, and wanted to see how they all would look on the day, so i set most of the table up. when i asked my husband what he thought, he just replied " yes, its ok". he didnt seem too enthusiastic so i asked him what was wrong. he said that if i wanted him to be honest, he would tell me. he then said that the napkins were not very practical( not the kind of material that you could wipe your mouth on if need be!) isaid that i could also get some paper ones too if someone needed one. he said i am defeating the object.what now?

What do, say Hindus, muslims, jews... do on Christmas day?

Do you do nothing and act like it's just another day?

Or do you do something, not necessarily christmas related, but different, seen as it's the big day of the year?
