Too often, we max out the credit cards, exhaust ourselves planning or going to parties and stress about what to get who that we miss out on the joy and meaning of this time of the year.
We celebrate Christmas because it marks when Jesus came to earth. It is not Santa coming to town, reindeer prancing or trimming a tree. It is not about eating Christmas cookies till we burst, going to one dull party after another and feeling lonely after it is all said and done.
How about those "after Christmas blues"? What's that all about you say? It's about missing the meaning completely.
This year, don't miss the meaning and see the difference.
Have a very meaningful Christmas everyone!

Unfortunately CHRISTmas is a celebration of presents and commerce and has lost its true meaning. The world seems to be full of Scrooge's. Everybody wants, but no one GIVES. Greed and Ignorance runs rampant in this day and age. CHRISTmas is about giving, caring and celebrating the true Messiah and prophet of GOD.
It seems the politics of some churches have ruined the true meaning of being a Christian. GOD help us all and allow us to find the light in Jesus Christ.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

OK, Now wait a minute. I haven't been around here very long but not too long ago I was violated for my question "not being a question". This isn't a question. It's being used as a platform for an opinion. So, what's up Yahoo? Isn't this a blog? Anyway, I am Catholic and well aware of Christ's birth. I also am well versed in the origin of Santa Claus..Saint Nicholas. The giving of gifts, for some, is told as sharing in Jesus' Birthday...giving. Also carrying on the tradition of St. Nicholas who gave his vast fortune to the poor and needy. Have a Blessed and Happy Christmas!

I sure do know the reason. Nobody's getting presents this year from me. In fact i haven't really ever given any to anyone. Wouldn't be better to spend time with family and rejoice the birth of Christ?
Here at my school I ice carve and me and another person were going to be a team and do something for christmas...but i have to leave today and its tomorrow. But before we knew what day i was going to leave they asked for suggestions...i said "Baby Jesus" but i don't know if we would have had enough ice to do it. But the instructor liked the idea since it is the reason for the season.

Yeah, three reasons:
1) The Earth has a tilt
2) The Earth wobbles
3) The Earth rotates around the Sun in an elliptical pattern

Wouldn't it be better to mark what Jesus said?
It is better to remember my death. Annually a celebration is marked to do exactly that.
Even the Catholic Pope expounded on the fact that Jesus was not born this time of the year.

IF YOUR GOING TO GET ON THE HIGH HORSE AT LEAST KNOW WHY YOUR CELEBRATING IT IN DECEMBER. READ THE BIBLE HE WAS BORN WHILE SHEPPARD'S WERE TENDING SHEEP THERE FOR AT THE EARLIEST JESUS WAS BORN IN THE SPRING DURING LAMBING.
Christ's mass was moved to December to correlate with the pagan celebrations. Want to throw him a party do it in the spring. Let St. Nickolas have his day too. (although his birthday was around the 6th of December i think but at least it was in the same month). Also the erection of trees and decking the halls all have roots in pagan traditions.
On that note HAPPY XMAS everyone - and if you know anything that is not taking Christ out of Christmas, its using the first part the Greek word for Christ so again happy Xmas Xians.
I know the reason do you???????

I agree. I think that many people have made it too much about presents and not about Jesus. I think that we give presents to show our good will to others, as God showed his good will to the world by giving his son. Have a ninjatastic CHRISTmas.
