Christians, how many times in the past six months have you visited a hospital, nursing home or hospice as part of a church program or activity to bring hope and company to the sick and dying?

theres loads of reports on NDE (near death experience) and reincarnation. In one report a guy was clinically dead (in the morgue awaiting autopsy) for three days after a 3rd heart attack. He woke up when they started to cut into him. He reported events he saw over the 3 days he was dead, inc information on his family. Life after death, Believe it , or not? If not why not?

Milk bottle tops are decorated in holly leaves, TV adverts ring out Christmas jingles months before hand. And half the people celebrating this huge festival don't even believe in Jesus, God and Christianity. Christmas now revolves around presents, Christmas trees and Father Christmas. Has the meaning of Christmas been lost? Christmas is all about spending money, wrapping presents and writing cards. The stress is relieved when the day finally comes and we can all sit glumly around the table our stomachs full of turkey and cake and realise what an anticlimax it's all been. Does the meaning of Christmas really mean anything anymore? Please share your views...

My best friend has 7 siblings all of different ages, and they aren't the richest people in the world and each christmas they don't get a lot of gifts. This year, i'd like to get each of them something but I don't really know what to get them! Also, I'm not made of money either, and the places I could shop are Dollar General, Wal-Mart, and maybe KB Toys.
Any inexpensive gift ideas and places to shop? Here are the ages:
16 (girl)
12 (girl)
10 (boy)
8 (girl)
4 (girl)
2 (girl)
1 (girl)

Thanks!

How do you expain this?
Matthew 1:18
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Matthew 1:20
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

This is one of the strangest things I've watched in a while. I'll never see veggies in quite the same way again.

Much is being said with regard to the birth of the Lord Jesus, His incarnation. In Love the Lord has asked us to Remember Him by partaking of the Bread which represents His body broken for us and by drinking the Wine which not only represents His blood shed for our redemption, but also this cup is a cup of blessing, the New Covanant.
Why is it so crucial to remember the Lord in THIS way?
Have we seen that to the Lord this is the best way to remember Him? This Table testifies that we are One with the Lord and one with all the other believers.
There is another table that is mentioned in the bible. It is the " table of demons" This is associated with Idolatry.
1 Cor 10:20-22
No, but that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God and I do not want you to BECOME those who have fellowship with demons
You cannot drink the Lord's cup and the demons' cup you cannot partake of the Lord's table and of the demon table.
Whose table is Christmas?

Among Christians this has been defined as Christ, among western pre- and proto-Christian-era religions and some neopagans, it has been the solar deity, in the east, it appears as the Avatar and the Boddhisattva.

Okay, sorry about the R&S reference, but I think most regulars are familiar with Fireball's tendancy to classify questions as unworthy of the R&S section, and it leads me to question how pervasive religion really is in people's lives.

This morning, someone asked about the religion of the Omaha mall shooter. Constantly we are being asked about the faiths of Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee and George Bush. Often such questions are deemed inapropriate to the section because they supposedly belong in Current Events or Politics or whatever. BUT, if your religion is supposed to inform your every decision, then shouldn't ALL questions be in the R&S section? Shouldn't the devout Christians be coming here to find a baby name that brings glory to God or to determine what car - if any - is most in line with the spiritual teachings of their particular sect? Can we not assume that any question asked here is looking for a spiritual perspective, or does the question need to ask "what would
