Serious answers only… I’ve been through a lot of “spiritual awakening” this year because of a family member going through cancer and a grandma passing away this summer. Friends and acquaintances also passing away due to tragedies and illnesses. I’ve been reading up a lot on near-death experiences and especially this website www.near-death.com and this section, on religion. For NDErs (Those who experience near-death) who are religious and came back more spiritual… They say religion – it doesn’t matter in heaven… All it counts is what’s in your heart and the golden rule: Do unto others as you do unto me. God ONLY cares about your true self and your heart.

What do you think? Do you agree with this statement. Why or why not? http://www.near-death.com/experiences/articles010.html

I think understand why there are different religions created… For different spiritual paths and honestly, we as people worship THE same God…

There’s no need for us to argue whose religion is right or wrong. No one is perfect.

what i mean is, I mostly have attended big evangelical mega churches. And every sunday the pastors more or less teach/preach the same things over and over again. And these churches seem a mile wide but an inch deep. And they always want your money too. And they are always so concerned about having a big/better church building too. Any ideas, thoughts, or suggestoins?????

Bush claims that he is a born again Christian, yet he seems to advocate torture, (terrorists or not, torture is not right, that is my belief, and I am not Christian) declare unessecary wars which kill innocent people, not to mention while he was governor he approved of more executions than any governor in the history of the USA.

So Is Bush a true Christian?

And not this part of the verse preached? "Submit yourselves therefore to God."

James 4:7 "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

I here a lot of Christians saying "resist the devil and he will flee." But what about submiting to God first? Wouldn't that be a very important thing to do when resisting the devil.

Should the US Congress fund a chapel to be built on the White House lawn for all Americans to see?

With a cross on top?

With a sign printed on the cross, Jesus Lives Here...or Jesus Lives...or Texas Methodism is the only one and true Church or This is where God talks to me?

? ? ?

If the Democrats win in 2008, then the cross could be taken down and replaced with a gold calf or a silver calf or a bronz calf or a calf painted green?

? ? ?

If Romney, a Mormon, is the next-president, the cross could be taken down and a directional sign put up which says:

2,000 miles westward to Salt Lake City?

? ? ?

or would there be more peace in the world

In his speech he said, "Let me assure you that no authorities of my church, or of any other church for that matter, will ever exert influence on presidential decisions. Their authority is theirs, within the province of church affairs, and it ends where the affairs of the nation begin"

I worry about people who say they are faithful but do not allow faith to guide public decisions. It makes me wonder how real their faith is.

According to one Mormon woman, "If you want to know what original Mormonism is all about, then you look at Warren Jeffs church." Polygamy is practice by many Mormon leaders like Joseph Smith Jr, Brigham Young, John Taylor, Wilford Woodruff, Lorenzo Snow, Joseph F. Smith, among others. Surprisingly, Gordon B. Hinckley condemned "polygamy" as unscriptural, a revelation that was followed and practice by many Mormon leaders like Joseph Smith Jr, Brigham Young, Lorenzo Snow, and others.

Yes,lemme ask a really sensitive question and get you all hot and bothered! I don't believe an apology would really change much but it would show that Western governments really are sorry for the atrocities of the past.No to mention that the 'slave mentality' still affects a lot of black people today.Ideally this apology should be done by the UK,America,Portugal,France,Germany,Holland and all the other European countries that divided up Africa like a turkey and carted it's people away. And if you call me a racist, you are a....

Jesus said " On this account I say to YOU, Every sort of sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the spirit will not be forgiven. 32 For example, whoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the holy spirit, it will not be forgiven him, no, not in this system of things nor in that to come.
