Having been a teen myself once and a foster parent more recently, I do see him as another unfortunate statistic. Parents neglect and abuse their kids all to often. It is shameful and common. But he stopped being a victim and became an unforgivable monster when he decided to open fire in that mall. He was in the kids section to shoot parents in front of their kids for a reason. He was jealous and angry. Whatever cause and who ever else as to blame, he acted alone. Plenty of abused kids shake it off and live normal lives as productive members of society. Abuse does not prevent you from knowing right from wrong. The boy chose to give into rage. He was evil.
