Say I wanted to send somebody something from my friends house using their address but I still want to use MY name. Would it still be sent out?

yes. The package would still be sent as long as the proper postage is paid. The name has nothing to do with the sending of the package it is just a way for the recipient to know who it is from.

mail only travels to a address
regardless of the persons name on the parcel/envelope
as long as the address is correct you could have
TO Queen of Sheba
written on the parcel
if you so wish

Yes. The post office does not check the return address, nor does it enforce that one be placed on it.

then "c/o" your friend's address
