How does the Lord Table minister to you as believers regarding His Incarnation.?

Much is being said with regard to the birth of the Lord Jesus, His incarnation. In Love the Lord has asked us to Remember Him by partaking of the Bread which represents His body broken for us and by drinking the Wine which not only represents His blood shed for our redemption, but also this cup is a cup of blessing,the New Covanant.
Why is it so crucial to remember the Lord in THIS way?
Have we seen that to the Lord this is the best way to remember Him? This Table testifies that we are One with the Lord and one with all the other believers.
There is another table that is mentioned in the bible. It is the " table of demons" This is associated with Idolatry.
1 Cor 10:20-22
No, but that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God and I do not want you to BECOME those who have fellowship with demons
You cannot drink the Lord's cup and the demons' cup you cannot partake of the Lord's table and of the demon table.

Hello there apple. I do agree that the Lord's table is also a time to examine ourselves in our inward condition. If we have offenses between us and the Lord or even between us and the saints we need to address this before taking the bread and wine.
But let me ask you this. When you sit to eat at a table do you sit and analize yourself only? You sit to eat and to drink. We partake of the Lord in spirit. Eating of Him as the real bread to be nourished as the Word of God and we partake of Him by drinking of Him in spirit. He has made Himself so available to us each and every day. His coming was for this.And each time we meet we need the reminder that every day, for the coming week, we need to feed and drink of Christ and be supplied, nourished by Him for Growth and Transformation in the christian life.
By dabbling in Idolatary of any kind. Do we partake of another table during this time? This is a very serious question I am asking. Not in judgement but out of love for mine in Christ.

I agree with you also brother Unknown. We need to see that there are two aspects of the Lord's table. There is the Table and the Supper. They might seem like one and the same but there is a subtle difference. At the table we fellowship around it. As we praise Him for WHO HE IS. Not just that He died for us but for all His attainments. From His incarnation to His Enthronement and Glorification. His supper is His enjoyment of our praises. Where He too has the enjoyment. So the table is Horizontal and Vertical.
But as I mentioned. My concern is on the other table that we dabble in. This table of the demons, of Idolatry that is so prevailing and what we have inherited from Apostate Roman Catholicism. The bread at the Lord's table is unleavened. The " woman" of the Catholic Church has put in Leaven, these teachings that are evil and of Mixture. She " hid" it in the flour. Our breaking away from the Catholic church was not clean. There is still leaven. Christmas is one and its leavened.

This is just to all my brothers and sisters reading this post. Please do not hate me for putting it up. I feel compelled to touch this matter and for me it takes some courage to do so. I know how close to the heart this celebration is. Its not just something that has included the Lord but with it comes much joy and love for our family and friends. The mood is very different...How can I as a sister look at you and say that this cannot be of the Lord.. that it is a pagan mixture! Maybe you might be saying" ok sandy.. enough already..leave us let us remember the Lords' birth in peace"

Have you ever eaten unleavened bread? Its not very good tasting. Its hard because leaven makes things soft and " melts in your mouth"
Once you have a taste for leavened bread.. nice soft.. warm.. puffy bread.. its hard to ask you to eat unleavened. This flat, tough bread.

YEs, we are to celebrate the communion, THE LORDS SUPPER< and yes it matters.
You pointed out already what all that means, so no need for me to say all you just said. You completed it quite nicely in a way that is quoting God and honoring God.
So much is involved as we take of the Lord's Supper, and it not all about US. WE are to remember from where we came of the old fallen sin nature, and know that we arent in that place any longer. WE , once born again, have the nature of Christ and His very excellent character. By His blood, we have been set free to know how to overcome sin, not continue in it. God requires obedience to His word, and when we wont, we arent truly born again. 1 John 3:9 tells how those born of God, wont deliberately walk in sin. THey will hate sin as God does. and count it all as JOy to give it all up.
WE are to remember who God is and that tho we arent God, we are one with Jesus Christ, that He is our perfect example to follow... pursue with all of our heart. And because of the blood of Jesus Christ, we are given the Holy Spoirit, our guide, councelor, teacher, and so much more, that when we hear Him, THE VOICE OF GOD, that we will know how to overcome sin and do it, by the power that is given to us thru Jesus Christ.
As we celebrate the communion, this is to focus on who we once were, before Jesus, and not forget where we came from, tho we know we arent that anymore. ITs about who God is and who He has created us to be, and the freedom we have in Christ to be free of sin, not free to sin, as many preach. Total heresy.. Anyhow, This is what we are thinking on, and thanking God for, as we do also focus on our new creation man, and know we are to pursue Jesus with all of our heart, to have His heart to love and obey God unto perfection.
This is one way we remember Him. But, we also are to do this every day, as we do focus on living for Him, and all HE has called us to do.

Most seem to think that idolotry is the worship of false gods, yep thats a part of it. > But anything you put between you and God and make the other more important is also a worship of that god to yourself and its sin. One that few want to hear about today is that when we refuse to obey God, and we do as we want to do with no or little regard to God, we have made ourselves a false idol as well and we serve ourself, and not God at all.
You are right , you cant drink from both tables, and each of us must deceide where we drink from and do it.
If we choose for Jesus, then wonderful blessings and rewards are us. If we choose anything other than Jesus, we are serving the table of demons, even if it just our own self we adore so much that we wont sacrifice ourselves fully to Jesus Christ, and do what is commanded to do.

Christmas? Well it is pagan and it is catholic and should have no place in the heart of Gods true ppl. IF one does a study of the origians of Easter and Christmas, they would surely not partake from that table. We are to celebrate Jesus every day, and not adapt pagan customs into our own life.
WE arent to judge another man for the holy days that keep, but we must judge ourselves and do the right thing that God calls us to do. IF ppl wont turn from their own ways, they will not be led into salvation. For awhile God will wink, but only for so long, at our ignorance. The gift of salvation is free, but holding on to it, is just as important now as it was before, that obedience is required, and if we are born again, we will do that, and for the right reasons, not unto legalism.
PPl say today that obedience is legalism, yet God calls us to it , even in the NEw Testament.
WE just obey for the right reasons, not tyring to buy our way into heaven. WE cant ever do that, it is free, and that we recognize . But we obey becuase God love sus and we love Him. and we will do all He requires us to do.
Great question. I just pray that many will study about the things you talk about, and really take a look at this Christmas/Easter paganism. It does not honor God.
There are even two references in the Bible as to the heathen cutting down the tress and decorating them with silver and gold, and GOd says they will be destroyed. How dare we bring pagan practices into the church. How dare we allow it to come to us individually as well. God is watching, God will judge of which table we truly took part it. Its all the way for Jesus or not at all.

I see everything in God as it pertains to relationship. Christians know that God is Love and that Love is revealed to us in it's greatest level through relationship. God, in his desire for relationship with man, became a man and paid the penalty which kept us separated. Now, that same forgiveness offered at the cross to man is the forgiveness that we use to continue in relationship with our fellow man. Whether friend or enemy, the same forgiveness is applied.
Personally, I think that the Church has watered down the true meaning of communion. It has become symbolic to the point the the reality is missed. Simply put, the meal is the time when communion amongst those gathered is at it's greatest level. God placed much emphasis on the feasts in the OT and we are going the the marriage SUPPER of the Lamb. The early Church broke bread together daily (ate together). They had something that is sorely missed in the present day Church and that is the abandonment of self for the benefit of the whole. When I read the book of Acts I am in awe of the lifestyle of the early Church. No need in their midst, shared all things, great GRACE was upon them, a love for the Lord and one another that is intertwined with the heart of God - Relationship! Anything that we partake in for selfish reasons puts us in line with the enemy and makes us partakers at his table.
The table of Christmas is shared the same as any other table one chooses.

the bible does not say anywhere that the bread and wine represents His Body and Blood, Instead it plainly states that it "IS" His Body and Blood.

The "table of demons" is not speaking of idolatry but is instead speaking of teaching of converts that they must change their was and their associations.

I suppose you have taken the liberty of believing that Christmas, the celebration of our Lord's birth as a Pagan celebration. If you can show instances where the Pagans actually celebrated the birth of our Lord you might have a valid argument but you cannot because it did not happen. Christmas is a time for all Christians to reflect on the birth of our Lord and what it means to humanity.

Communion re-enacts His sacrifice for us. I allow it to remind me of who Jesus is and what huge things He has done for me. I clear my conscience regularly, but even so I examine my life before I take communion. Otherwise, I might take it thoughtlessly/carelessly which is a sin. It would mock His sacrifice for me if I take it without due reverence.

I don't think Christmas is celebrated in remembrance of our Lord....It is about parties, drinking, going in debt to buy our children expensive gifts. It is pagan. I think the perfect Christmas celebration would be to go to church and take communion and sing praises to our Lord and think of the very sick and poor people of this world.....

The Lord's table ministers to me by causing me to examine(judge) myself so that I won't be condemned with the world, and in remembering the new covenant in His Blood and how He was beaten and bruised for us and died on the Cross of Calvary...all this is done in the rememberance of Him.
