There is a deranged participant here who has accused me of targeting Calvinists.

I don't even know what a Calvinist is, much less who is one.

I am assuming they are some kind of fundie.

If Christians actually followed the teachings of Jesus, would non-Christians have more respect for Christians and Christianity?

Martin Luther taught that confession and absolution, the real presence of Christ during the Eucharist, infant baptism, etc are all very biblical practices. Many Christian fundamentalists hail Martin Luther as the Father of the Reformation, yet denounce many of his teachings, calling them unscriptural. Why is it that fundamentalists hold Dr. Luther in such high regard, yet deny the most basic things he taught?

Martin Luther, the father of Protestantism, broke away from Catholicism, one reason being that he challenged the Pope's authority to interpret scripture. Protestantism was founded on the idea that all Christians are part of a "general priesthood", and therefore have the ability to interpret scripture for themselves.

That being said, why is there is so many arguments between Protestants on the "right way" to interpret scripture, considering that one of the reasons Protestantism EXISTS is so that we have the right to interpret scripture ourselves?

We may disagree on certain things, but doesn't saying that any Protestant "is not a Christian" because of their particular interpretation undermine part of the foundation of Protestantism itself?

Muslims say theres no compulsion in religion but all other religions are lies. When they get over this attitude they may advance and move foreward like the rest of the world.

‘We against Them,’ ‘We the righteous against the heathens,’ ‘We the servants submissive of the Great Allah against the rebellious enemies of Allah.’ Islam is a polarizer. Islam is an enemy-maker. To Islam, a non- Muslim is a combatant against Allah and he is fair game to be subjugated and killed.”

One should believe for the sake of believing, not because god commands or asks us so. Otherwise, what is the point? Surely a great god has no need for a pledge of fealty or a fan base. God asks us to give up our human pride. Should we not demand the same from god?

Hypothetically speaking (assume here for a moment if you can fathom that concept), if Jesus said, "Follow me if you must. Be a good person if you must. Grow in spirit through me if you must. But if you believe in me and accept me into your heart I will damn you to an eternity in hell." You keep saying it is faith that is important, not the heavenly reward. Would you still have faith in god?

OK, this is the end of the hypothetical. Did you make it this far and can you answer?

I absolutely hate it. Hubby expressed the view that I'd be better off leaving ahead of the traffic rather than being stuck in it. He'd cleaned my car and it was warmed up. So off I went on slippery roads, accidents all over the place, new windshield wipers kept icing up, etc. I work 21 miles from home. I got to the office and they hadn't even plowed the parking lot. Half an hour later I heard the plow leaving so I went out to move my car closer to the building. Wouldn't you know it...they plowed my car in. I had to kick a foot and a half of snow away from the front of the car just to drive through 6" to get out of the pile. My cell phone kept ringing while I was still driving. I was not going to answer it while driving. When I finally talked to him to tell him I arrived at work, I was shaking so much it took another half an hour to get my hands to stop shaking. I have decided hubby is not always right.

How do you cope driving in a storm?

There is this female co-worker I don't see that often only when I go to the other side of the shop and only sometimes then not always ok but when she first started working there she was acting standoffish and would not look at me so I never botherd to say hello just did my work I was not rude to her at all I mean if you dont know someone and they dont seem to want to know you I think it is ok not to say hi. So one day me and my boss were standing around his name is the same as mine she comes walking by and says hi Jeff and my boss says to her what Jeff do you mean and she says when I say HI Jeff I always mean you meaning my boss and not me that made me feel bad I got over it but just stayed away from her and would not look at her thinking she did not want to be around me, but then one time we pass by each other as I was trying to avoid eye contact she would lean in and stare at me in a rude way. Why is she acting like this?? help me please.

An employee of mine (in Idaho) who is a mormon bishop told me that a good mormon gets his own planet when he dies where he is a god. What was surprising was that as a god he was entitled to at least 30 virgins. This person is a very intelligent health care professional.

called The SPIRIT OF GOD.
THE SPIRIT OF GOD is like an invisible river , a ever flowing stream of force moving in all direction and back and ever expanding all at the same time and all the time

Gravity is a "Pushing Force" that uphold all His creations in it's proper place.

Time is also from this Source, except that it is moving slower than the Space (also an invisible flowing force), while matter are moving slower than time.
But all these are bathe in the Source - God unseen Spirit as described in Genesis 1- The Spirit of God hovering over the deep.

So any Scientists can make sense of what I just says outside of the Box (School of Physics and Scientific world)

What say you all who are thinking "inside the Box"

This questain is only for those that do not believe the BIBLE.
Will you please explain how a book of lies and fairytales written over a span of 2,000 year, and not added to for almost 2,000 years now, can have prophecies in it that describe modern life perfectly.
Here are a few...
Incease in knowlage,
Increase in earthquakes,
Increase in travel (only in the last few years can you have breafast in England, lunch in Itily, dinner in koria, and be in bed in Califonia all in one day.)
Wars and rumers of wars,
Incurable deseases,
Good would be called evil, and evil would be called good (is homosexuality good?)
and the bigest of all...
Israel is again a Nation.

...then why do some many people believe in 'guardian angels,' ghosts, and other spiritual beings? I just asked the question earlier..."What happens when you die"...and the biggest response was "nothing, you just die." Well, if nothing happens then why do so many people believe in these 'spiritual beings?'

I've heard from a few different places recently that the world will end in December of 2012. Does anyone have any insight on this? Does anyone believe this? If this is widely believed to be true, does anyone think that there will be a series of riots and looting when it comes to be that time?
