whether you live in a realists world or the reality of todays world.. You still have a high powewr to answer to and guard against in times of trouble and enjoy in times of celebration. Makes no difference if you live in the woods with the creatures of the world or in the city with the other creatures of this world.. You will find a communication with a much higher force than your own. So as for the number of us that have any certain beliefs that you want to touch base on then, you must first come to terms with yourself and accept who and what you are. And only then will you know the real number of how many of us are in existence.

You're question isn't quite clear.
Are you asking if the belief of a higher power allows you to live comfortably in reality? Or are you asking if belief makes this difficult?
Here's the truth no one will tell you. GOD doesn't put you through crap. All the confusion is caused by the belief in the smaller aspects of GOD, and therefore you're disappointed because all your needs aren't met. Most often church and what not is really just extracurricular for discipline in faith. Strict adherence only brings you farther away because you focus on the ritual and not the reason for it. The religious crusades are nothing better than any other form of racism. And this will never bring you to spiritual freedom.

Can you really eliminate the possibility of God? I mean, even a chance that some people might believe in a reality that includes God. Maybe your reality isn't. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. Reality isn't always real. Listen to the Beatles and stop asking silly questions. Let reality come to you, don't try to shape reality.

Gee, I was going to answer your question, then you started calling people moron. Name calling is necessary because...?
I can't tell you what to do, but what works for me is if somebody calls me on an error or typo, I indicate "my bad" in some way, add a smile and correct it. That way I don't have to belittle someone who is not as blindingly brilliant as I am.
Meanwhile, I guess I'll meander out of here and find some other philosophical discussion.

Well, depends on your idea of realist.
Example: If AlGore and those that accept the global warming story truly cared about the planet wouldn't they be preaching about population control? Any true "realist" can see that all the problems of the world would be greatly deceased with less people.

I'm a realist in the sense that "Ok, this is how it is. No sugar-coated mess." But I strongly believe in a Higher Power. Its gotten me through many things in my life.

your question is sort of fuzzy to me, but i think you are asking if i can live my life comfortably without believing in a higher power. the answer is, yes. i alone am responsible for my actions, and the results thereof.

stick with reality-it will save a lot of trouble trying to choose which of the fables to believe in-life is much simpler that way-just my thoughts-just my choice--smile and enjoy the day

I guess I believe in God. Not sure what I think God is, nature I guess. I am quite happy with my life. I do pray in stress situations, especially when I am uncertain of what to do. Not sure it helps me decide anything. I also pray when I think things are going really badly. That seems to help.
