My dad absolutely forbids my feelings, and tells me it will not be tolerated. That it is a sin.

Can you justify this? Is it a sin? If so, where does it say?
Is it not? If so, can you prove it in the Bible?

I'm reading the Old Testament right now, and I'm unsure about what is happening in between the time of the Divided Kingdoms of Israel and Judah until the Exile in Second Isaiah? I feel like there are so many people introduced and I don't know who's leading who, I'm very confused! Please Help Explain!

A CONVENT in southern Italy is being shut down after a quarrel among its last three remaining nuns ended in blows.

Sisters Annamaria and Gianbattista, reportedly upset about their mother superior's authoritarian ways, scratched her in the face and threw her to the ground at Santa Clara convent near Bari in an incident in July that was kept quiet until now.

Archbishop Giovanni Battista Pichierri tried to reconcile the nuns but finally decided in late August that they had "clearly lost their religious vocation'' and asked the Vatican for permission to close the convent.

Sisters Annamaria and Gianbattista moved to another convent, but Sister Liliana barricaded herself inside, refusing to leave, the reports said.

She suspected Bishop Battista Pichierri of planning to cede the convent to another community.

Liliana had been at the convent since its founding in 1963.

I wonder why even many pastors find it difficult to give a sermon on this topic-such as the ill-effects of pornography in a society and particularly in a marriage life.
And what topic do you think should be covered very often in a church sermon?

POPE Benedict has said there is substantial scientific proof of the theory of evolution.

The Pope, speaking as he was concluding his holiday in northern Italy, also said the human race must listen to "the voice of the Earth" or risk destroying its very existence.

Heard this recently:
Rather than Merry Christmas [or happy Christmas], perhaps, in the spirit of the season, we should say -"It's Christmas. How can I lighten your burden?"

Last year, Christians made it clear that they consider "Happy Holidays" and "Merry Xmas" an attack on their Religion. Could this incident be part of their response to the perceived threat of Secularization? Certainly it fits in with their 2000 year history of mass murders,

Who's seen these billboards? We have them in Mississippi, thanks to the bible belt extremists. But I want to know what makes it okay for groups to make billboards like that? Because I'm pretty positive God didn't say that.

Don't put words in my God's mouth, thanks.

Today in my crap newspaper, for reasons other than this viewpoint, there was a publiushed view that spouted trash about evolution. The main "areguments" of this viewpoint were

1-we have so many people delighted to come from pond scum
We accept the fact that evolution accuretly and correct describes, how we came about. Simply because we do not want to think something happened, does not mean it did not happen. As much as Americans would like to forget about slavery, the fact is it happened and wishing for it not to happen, does not make it any less real.
2-Evolution does not answer what "power/force/agency allthe nessicary changes take place to make all this happen"
Ironically some1 wrote a letter descibing the hunting of deer and talked about passing on of traits in the very same issue.
3-Evolution is just a theory
4-Wait until you have a prayer answered, and see God's power
5-Everything is a result of a Intelligent designer

My friend, let's say her name is Bob. She's had a bad past, which makes her narrow minded and stubborn. And she's atheist. And every time she brings up religion, she brings down mine. I don't say anything because I don't want to cause problems. but lately, I've gotten sick of it. So I told her i was sick of her kicking at my religion and she blamed it on me because she thought that I accused her of putting down my religion, like everybody else does. And I found it stupid because there's a reason everyone does that. It's not like everyone accuses because she doesn't, it's because she does. I know I have to accept that there's people like that, but should I really have to endure so much pain for her? I never forced Jesus on her, I never judged her like that. I haven't made her cry like that. I never made her cry for 5 hours. Don't get me wrong. I love her, but should I really stay friends with her if she can't respect my religion? Should I really hurt myself for her?

Seriously.
Picture the scene:
What if religion, including the idea of the higher power/entity behind it, the commandments/laws that the system of beliefs is based on, and the other components that make up each and every other belief were done away with or made illegal?

I include these aspects of religion because there would be no end to religion without doing away with the ideas that back it, otherwise people would just reorganize anyways according to these beliefs, right?

Is it possible, and what would the long term effects be?

How would people, governments, businesses respond to this change?
