I'm thinking about the people who have everything and are hard to please.

If I was to give to a charity in their name, would that be a good gift? How much to give? And if the person in question is notoriously a "cheapskate" (I'm talking 'waits for their penny back' cheap) do you still think they'd think it was a good gift? Or would it be a waste of money?

2. If her's mother's passed on, what should I say?

Then how do you mandate any law to a person where right or wrong is not a factor just obeying society's law is?

If what is right for one person but wrong for the other should one view be forced over another?

If someone says Abortion, Homosexuality, sex outside of marraige
assisted suicide is wrong should those people have the right to believe this way without being labeled intolerant? or does societal pressure rule?

I am from the UK and it seems that religion plays a very big part in the electorial process in the US.

This is completely different in the UK, where Tony Blair mentioned recently that he didn't mention his religious beliefs in any big way so he wouldn't be thought of as a 'nutter'.

It is true that in the UK, if religion is mentioned as a factor in a decision, it is treated with a huge amount of scepticism.

Do you feel that politicians have gone too far down this track in the US

Tagging off of Mr. Ed's questions here, hope you don't mind!

The Seven Heavenly Virtues:
faith, hope, charity, fortitude, justice, temperance, prudence

BTW, a bit of trivia here: Versions of the 7 Deadly Sins and the 7 Heavenly Virtues have been taught by the Christian Church at least the 5th Century.

Twice in the last 24 hours, I have been amazed at the lengths some 'Christians' will go to. In response to two separate posts where someone is genuinely asking for more info on Judaism, two Christian yahoo users have given links to Christian missionary sites - and pretended they were providing details on Judaism.

I hope the majority of decent Christians will join me in condemning this?

And yep, I'm going to name and shame the two that did it: stand up SAGE and SUZANNE.

Suzanne did it yesterday: someone asked for info about the Jewish Torah/Tanakh and Suzanne swiftly put up a link to a site that totally distorts what is said in the Tanakh.

Tonight, someone else has asked for more detailed info on Judaism and SAGE gave a link to a site that again, has NOTHING to do with Judaism.

Is this being a good Christian, to try and deceive people?

If God gave you something its there for a reason ie, eyes legs even down to eyelashes to stop dust from getting in our eyes......... so why would the same god want us to self modify his design ?

i have seen several inferences in this area that catholics are not true christians. i cant figure it out. catholics are the foundation of christianity, they decided what went into the bible, the mass is centered around the bible, peter whom jesus called his "rock" was the first pope, the whole church and sacraments are christ centric. why the intolerance?

ok i learned about a week ago that not going to mass on sunday is commiting a mortal sin (if you have full knowledge)? well i am wondering if this is acceptable for not being one (the mass i was planning on going to starts at 12):
i woke up at about 10-ish and my mom was leaving for work. so my mom taking me was out of the question. so i called my grandma and was going to go with her but she ended up going to an earlier mass i didnt know she was going to. i cant drive and dont have a car, plus i was in the house all day. is this considered a mortal sin?

ps i am catholic too.
