Now think of it abstractly. Don't think of a specific nation, empire, religion, group, political party.....

I have read quite often here in the Word where we say that as christians we can loose our eternal salvation. I want us to address this matter.
Each person posting in response to this crucial no nonesense matter MUST provide some valuable balanced scriptures to support their claim for or against this question.

Thank you so much for taking the time to put forward an answer to this question.

The earliest versions of creation of earth, creation of man, tower of babel, flood, etc. They were all written thousands of years before the old testament, it is obvious that they were taken from the earlier versions, they talk of two gods in charge, one wrathful, one a benefactor of man. In Genesis it speaks of single and plural gods, are we to only believe words from a certain time in history and ingore the rest??

Would you be alright if someone you typically exchanged gifts with gave you a card saying they donated in your honor or would you prefer a gift that you would use or want.

I view the term "god" akin to "deity" - something that is more powerful than humans (to put it loosly). I don't view it as any particular god, as there is no name attached to it! Simply saying God doesn't mean the Hebrew god (capilized or not) - it could mean Pagan gods, nature, ect. Depending on your view, it doesn't have to be a living creature or something to communitate with. Of course, this is MY opinion (brought up by how some people get all upity with the "In God we Trust" thing on US currency).

So, what does the simple term "GOD" mean to you?

Pardon the poor sentence structure.

Me, I'm thinking static electricity. Some kid shuffles across the carpet and touches his kid sister on the ear , that was me.
Either that or male pattern baldness.

How many things are there that are Pagan?
Would we find ourselves unable to put flowers on a loved ones grave if we avoided it because it was a Pagan practice.
Would we not be able to wear a certain color of clothing?
Would we have to avoid certain foods.
Could we have a birthday party for a 5 year old grandbaby.
Would we have to do away with the virgin birth?

I think you get my meaning here, at least I hope that you do.Now will we allow satan to lock us up in a box so that we are afraid to do anything, or will we walk in the spirit, celebrating our own holidays without fear of man?

Romans 14:20 For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.
Titus 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

i just went to confession today during religion class (i go atleast once every 2 or so months) and well the priest from my parish who i am well aquanted with. i am in the youth group he runs, i took his confirmation class, he is basically the yourth minister.

well he did confession at my school and i had to go to him. being the advent season i admited everything (something i normally dont do-i konw it is bad that i dont) but i told him how i borrowed a dollar ffrom a friend without her knowing. (now i will have you know that it was only $1!!! and that i paid her back in person! and explained it all. it is a justifiyable story)

well when it came to giving me my penance, he asked "well how much did you steal?" and i said "only a dollar but i paid her back in full and in person."

but now all i can do is think of his face when i said that and all i can do is think that he will hold it against me or atleast think of me differently. hold on more to come

OK - all of us did not have June Cleaver for a Mom...the powers that be know I didn't.

But after age 50 I learned to count the blessings rather than the negatives and I found many things my mom gave me that have served me well in life.

For me [given we were a military family that went everywhere we could with my Dad] it was making a HOME no matter where we were, for how long or under what circumstances.

Even my grandaughter tells me "G'ma, your house always seems like HOME!'

Maybe not. But it brakes my heart to see so many ADULT brothers and sisters of mine fooling themselves with things like God, Heaven, Soul, etc..
I wish I was a bit more CREDULOUS too.

do you think it should be a countdown? Starting from 25 to 1? Or start from 1.. and go to 25. I think it should start at 1, and then continue to 25, because 25 is the big snowflake, that makes sense, right? Haha, my Ma thinks I'm insane, she thinks it should start at 25 and go down. What do you think? (We have this debate every year :P )

Let's see hypothetically, you can disprove evolution to a point that most of the credible scientists in the world would agree. Not likely, but let's say it for the sake of argument (Don't post links, you can post those on the 10 evolution argument posts per day)

How would this prove a Christian God? Why not Allah? Odin? Giant Turtle God? There are a lot of religions that have the concept of deity or deities creating the Earth. If so, it would make none of them more credible than the other.

If anything, it would just boost deists.
