The time of year Christians celebrate Gods gift to mankind, Baby King Jesus? They Named Him 'Jesus' (Yeshua) because he will save His people from their sins.

If Christians are correct and I am judged by God after my death, can't I just say a quick prayer, renounce sin, accept Jesus into my heart, etc, and then get into Heaven? After all, I've been repeatedly told that God really wants me in Heaven.

If I can't then why not? Isn't that extremely unfair?
If I can, why should I convert to your religion during my life?

There was a documentary here in the UK a few months back that looked at Christian's in the US and their views on discipline.
I watched with interest, however, it came across quite badly. There was actually one guy that made wooden paddles. He wrote on them 'Never in anger' (although I think he is naive to think that would be adherred to). He advised that it was his calling from God to do this.
He advised that if he was wrong, then he would apologise to God. Again, this seemed a big feeble.

My question is this; is this a common view in the US amongst Christians that discipline should go this far. I know that in a lot of documentary's they have an agenda to suit their purpose. But I am interested, and a little concerned that this might be seen as acceptable.

p.s. I'm an atheist, but respect people's rights to have faith, this isn't a loaded question to bash Christians.

Grandmother would take a ruined shirt and cut all the buttons off and save them in a jar. If we ever lost a button, she might have a matching button to sew on for us in that old jar!

or possibly, what have you already learned that you've found useful to your life?
I was just outside and was watching a squirrel high up in a tree collecting berries and it would drop one but just look for the next branch with something on it. This made me think about how too often humanity gives up when they 'drop the berry' instead of looking for the next 'branch'.

In what ways do you feel the the "thoery" of evolution has harmed the christian faith? And isn't evolution an atheistic "faith" since there are some many unexplained gaps in the "theory." And since when was a "theory" taught as fact?

These are all things that frustrate me with science today. If you are going to teach evolution let it remain a theory and teach creation along side so that people are completely informed and not missguided by oneside philosophies that scue the human mind.

There seems to be a consensus floating around cyberspace that perhaps we should bury the Fluff Bunny (FP) term and let it R.I.P. Do you are agree? Do you have a saying to place on the tombstone? When was it born and when did it die? Do we bury the already rotted carcass of the FP or kick it around some more? Yes, or No and why?

"A general convergeance of Religions upon a universal Christ who satisfies them all, that seems to me the only possible conversion of the world, and the only form in which a religion

This question is for everyone, Christian or non-Christian. I want to put together a list of Christian stereotypes as research for a book I'm writing. (The book is fictional and will not "bash" either side. This is only research for character development, nothing more, and please do not "bash" one another as you answer. Thank you!) :)

If you could think of one thing that would solve the race problem in America for good, what do you think it would be?

My answer would be patience. Many attempts at the discussion of race get out of hand because someone says something that someone else doesn't like. The discussion then turns to an argument. I think that if people would stop being so sensitive and shut up for a second, they would be more likely to understand where the other person is coming from. Patience is the key, in my opinion.

What's yours?

He's always depicted beating on the devil with a sword and sometimes a spear. Do you think it's time to update his kit for the 21st century? I think people today would be able to better relate if he was dressed in camouflage and armed with something like a G3A3 or an M4 carbine. Guido Reni’s painting of St. Michael where he's about to chop the devils head with his sword could be updated with St. Michael holding a pistol to the devils head. What do you think?

I keep a 12-pack in the refrigerator for myself. I keep thinking that maybe common decency will win out over petty theft. So far, from the current 12-pack, three have been stolen. The buck-fifty isn't the issue, it's the fact that I cannot even trust my own coworkers, some of whom have MBAs, which is proof that common crooks exist at all levels of education. I'm not the only one who experiences this. Other people in my office lose food to thievery. You'll probably say to put a note on them to identify them as mine, and I have tried that, but to no avail. They still vanish. Maybe it's a fantasy, but rather than try to protect my Cokes from theft, I would rather see the office become a safe haven, devoid of criminal behavior and above reproach. Am I asking too much? Should I lock down my Cokes the way I do my cubicle every night?

The bible says it is perfect but it clearly is full of mistakes. Could it be that it wasn't inspired by a God at all but in fact inspired by many-times-over handed-down stories born of the culturally, scientifically, geographically, and medicinally ignorant local peasants of the time?
