Yes, Native Americans lived here.

No, Native Americans did not start a country called "The United States of America".

USA was not founded entirely by Christians. It was very clear from the beginning that the "founders" intended for our country to be secular, thus retaining a freedom of (or from) religion.

Geesh! Public school must have gone even more downhill than when I graduated in the 80s.

There are so many debates wrapped up in this question, it's not even funny.

1) It could be argued that the 'founding fathers' were not really Christian.
2) Yes, they founded the country ('country' being the social/political entity ruling the people of this land). Who lived here first isn't really the point of that statement.

No one founds a land ('land' being the geographical location). God made the earth if that's the definition you're going for...

Christians founded this country. The Native Americans were living on the land before Christians founded this country on said land. People make the claim because it's true.

Sure, I will be happy to explain it. While Indians were native here, our present country, the United States of America, was not founded by Indians, but by Christian settlers. Native Indians had very little to do with the writing of the Constitution of the United States, and had very little to do with our government, except that they were our enemies. We (Christians) are not claiming we were the first here, and we are not claiming we invented American soil. However, our present American system of government was founded by Christians. Why is that such a problem for you to give them credit for that? Does your money say, "In chief Wakiputa we trust?" Mine does not.

It was only recently that Christians recognized Native Americans as human beings.

When this country was founded there were two forms of Christians. Catholics and those who belonged to the Church of England. Those who came to this land from England were mostly non-Christians by the terms of their day. The were running from the religious intollerance of the English. This country was founded by Theists, Masons, and other non-Christians. I point you to the 11th article of the Treaty of Tripoly in 1796.

America was founded by the Native Americans and there is no mistake about.
Christians and non-Christians only spread DEATH and DESTRUCTION and built a country on top of the bones of the sacrificed native people.
No one can feel PROUD of that.

The country, America was founded by Christians.

The native Americans were there first, but they didn't 'found' the country they purely lived on the land that was taken over by Europeans.
