Do you realize how many times this has been asked?
The reason that they are separated is that Mythology is stories, Religion is the practices based on those stories.
For example, Greek Reconstructionist Polytheists use the stories written by Homer and Hesiod as sacred texts the same way that Christians use the Bible.....
