If God gave you something its there for a reason ie, eyes legs even down to eyelashes to stop dust from getting in our eyes......... so why would the same god want us to self modify his design ?

There's no logical answer for this. Just ignorance and blind followers.

Anyway, thank God Christianity states clearly that circumcision is unnecessary. As for Judaism and Islam I can't speak on those religions as I don't practice them.

I'm an atheist, so I'm a little fuzzy here, but didn't he also say, "if your right hand offend ye, cut it off?" why did he give us right hands? I think he must have been amusing himself, to see exactly how commited his creations were to him, I mean, anything that would cut of a piece of its genitals for you, wow, thats love. Thats assuming of course, that he exisists. Really, God said a whole lots of things that people no longer listen to (dietary laws, periods of "uncleanliness) I really don't swee why people get all hung up on keeping this one. And, it should be pointed out that historically all Judaism required was a drop of blood from the foreskin to symbolize abrahams sacrafice, but when the romans began persecuting the jews, the jewish authorities decided to remove the WHOLE foreskin so that jewish males could no longer deny thier jewish heritage in the face of adversity. Why do christians still do it? they don't, except in america, and thats because they've been brainwashed by docotrs and society. Honestly, its a crazy idea for anyone other than the most devout Jew, and then, a drop of blood, not complete excision, should suffice. -Neb

There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Both virus types can cause sores around the mouth (herpes labialis) and on the genitals (genital herpes). Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Cold sores sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days. They usually heal in several days to 2 weeks.
The herpes simplex virus usually enters the body through a break in the skin around or inside the mouth. It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluid—such as from sharing eating utensils or razors, kissing an infected person, or touching that person's saliva. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child in this way. Cold sores can also be spread to other areas of the body.

It dates back to Abrahamic Laws.

God gave it, God wants it back?

Why do you have objections.... but I would really would like to find out religious reasons for circumcision.

Top of the line Question ever asked at R&S - I appreciate it.

FYI --- circumcision is also practiced in Islam for the reason God asked Prophet Abraham to do so.

I don't know how people explain this. I guess they think god created it so people would chop it off. I think this clearly shows god is a sexual sadist and instead of doing such barbaric rituals, I would leave the church personally.

If there arises a question of health then his design will deffinatly have to be modified, or else the one not being circumcised could have deffinate problems as he gets older.
And I know this from being a parent and experience with my own son.

Circumcision was an ancient practice for Gods people, the Jews, to identify themselves. After Jesus founded christianity and the Jews rejected Jesus, the focus was not on the mosaic law, but on the circumcision of the heart to identify oneself as one of God's people, acknowledging Jesus and his saving power. The practice of circumcision nowdays is ancient Jewish tradition and nothing more

They lived in a very dry climate where bathing was rare if ever done. Maybe he thought it would keep them cleaner.
After Jesus came that was done away with and there fore no man should be circumcised today.
Many things done in that time and place are not done today.

So true. Nobody is touching my manhood! It is a barbarous act that the child cannot even give consent for. It should be abhorred in the same way that female circumcision is. And the poor guys who are circumcised have less neural stimulation during sex so it's not as fun! The foreskin is densely innervated with neurones.

The religious context for this ridiculous fashion derives from Abraham. Apparently he put up with his foreskin for 80 years after which time he decided he didn't want it any more so he cut it off with a hatchet, ordaining that god told him to do it.

I think so as not be thought of as "different" he started cutting off foreskins both left and right.. wherever they hang. People thought this was a damb fine idea for some reason and so for thousands of years have been mutilating the penis of little boys ever since.

If we could turn back time, wouldn't it be wonderful had someone taught Abraham to pull his foreskin back and give his glans a little wash every now and again so that it didn't get so irritated.
