Hello Vim! I Read some of the responses you have received, and I have deleted some of my own Q.'s, for lack or NO Answerer's. It seems like a real (if you'll excuse the expression), crap shoot. I look at some of the Q.'s that are flying with 50+ Answers and it's not a serious matter. In fact one was... "Guess how I got my nickname", and I even answered it. It was pure impulse that influenced me to do that.

But I prefer the educational Q.'s like the ones you ask. You should never give up. Never give in to flat-liners, or people that you know are just being ridiculous. Like when you receive answers that insult your intelligence. I've gotten some very rotten insulting answers, but shrug them off. I have been compared to Steven Hawking, that was terrific. I don't know it all, nor pretend to. But, that's why I love to at least read and learn what others have to say.

PLEASE don't ever, ever say or think you are wasting any of your life. You sound very intelligent, and sensitive. The world needs more people like you. You are special, and show great poise. I know a lot of people, and have worked with Sir Paul McCartney and wife Linda. Many, many more. I say this only to you because, I'm trying to establish the fact, that I can give reputable advice sometimes, and eccentric answers at other times. It's just who I am. You are going to go a LONG way!

You're having the same thoughts that many of us have had before. It does seem like a waste of time when you consider what you've said (that, at times, so few people answer serious questions) and the fact that Y!A has a really screwed up reporting system [which consists of Qs and As being deleted if two or more so-called "trusted" reporters report the Qs and As, receiving no more of a response from Y!A than "post your appeal on the appeals board," and then being denied the appeal regardless]. Seriously, Yahoo will give any explanation for violations for the sake of upholding the violations and not admitting that Qs and As were falsely reported. (Thereby making it impossible for a reporter to be anything other than "trusted".)

I've had as many as nine questions deleted in ONE DAY. I'm surprised that I'm still on my first account. One of my deleted questions was: "Are you a morning person, an afternoon person, or an evening person?" What's wrong with that? NOTHING! I appealed the violation and received a reply that said something about chatting. Sorry, but that WAS NOT chatting. I wasn't asking to chit chat. For fun, I was simply asking what time of the day people enjoy the most. (Just one example of the long list of questions which have been deleted simply because some troll decided to pick with someone.)

Anyway- At one time, I did think that Y!A is a waste of time. I don't think that anymore, because I do enjoy myself here in spite of the nonsense. If my account gets suspended, I'll simply create another one.

Thanks, dude! I'm going to bookmark your profile page so I can re-add you if my account gets deleted. :-)

I’m still trying to understand why people wait for a bunch of random strangers to give them the answers they could have found two hours ago with Google.

I find it entertaining. It's a diversion. Is it deep and meaningful? Probably not.
