Some guy that walks, talks, eats and drinks with Jesus and witnesses first hand his miracles still doesn't believe Jesus could rise from the dead....and he is given ample proof.

2000 years later, those of us who have never walked, talked, eaten, drank or saw jesus do a miracle are told we are going to burn in a fire lake for not believing.

why are we asked to believe with more conviction than his own disciples...all along with less proof?

sooooooo, I have been thinking :-) Bible tells us that Adam and Eve were the first humans created by god.
Science tells us that our ancestors evolved from primates. These two contradict each other. Which one is right? Evolution has to right. right? Because science has evidence like fossil records, human anatomy (humans have a tail bone like primates and yet no tail), and also genetically similar to primates. Humans share 99% of their DNA with primates! On the other hand, the only evidence for "Adam and Eve" is the Bible which was written thousands of years ago and no one knows for sure where it came from. Interesting.....

Can prayer and praying for others change God's will? Looking at Genesis 18 I see God is going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah out right. Then Abraham pleads with God to spare the towns if righteous people are found there. God and Abraham continue to negotiate in this story so it appears that God changed his mind or did he. The towns were destroyed, but the righteous were spared after Abraham's pleading.

Was it God's will for Abraham to plead for the people he did not even know? We are called to pray for others in the new testament, so we do out of obedience to the word. The question comes down to,(A) do our prayers change God's will or how God reacts to us humans? or (B) Do our prayers simply set God's plan in action? Any thoughts?

wouldnt he be in jail right now for all the things he did. I mean, read the bible, he did some pretty awful things. Now, you may say "he didnt actually do them" , well Hitler, Stalin etc didnt kill those millions of people either, but we look at them as criminals because of the laws they created. Wouldnt god be subject to the same moral standards and laws, which by the bible alone would incriminate him on numerous accounts?

Und wenn die Zeit nun stillsteht
Du bist das was mit mir geht.
Wenn sich die Welt rückwärts dreht
Das was mich vorwärts trägt.

Doch was wär wenn`s so nicht wär?
wo käme mein wenn schon her?
wie würde mein Lied sich reim`n?
wo und würd ich sein?

Was wäre wenn
uns`re Welt sich trennt?
Will nicht probier`n
ohne dich zu existier`n.

Was wäre wenn
will es mir nicht vorstell`n.
Denn nichts macht Sinn
was ich ohne dich bin.

Und schon Gedanken tun weh.
Und der Kopf bleibt leer
wenn ich versuche zu seh`n
wer ich ohne dich wär.

Was wenn du mich nicht mehr kennst?
Was wenn ich mich hier verrenn?
Was wenn nichts bliebe als der Schein?
Nichts als Leere kann es sein.

Was wäre wenn
wir ins leere renn?
Was wäre wenn?
Ich will’s gar nicht kennen.

Dankeschoen.

why are there so many denominations and a variety of different beliefs? Why doesn't God speak to everyone and let them know the correct way to believe so that the denominational barrier is broken? I know that most of them have the core belief that Jesus is God and died for us and rose again from the dead, because that is the central belief for christianity. But, there is still division and a house divided against itself can not stand. Churches of Christ believe you must be baptized to be saved, Most Baptists believe you have to be baptised in a Baptist church for it to be a true baptism, Pentecostals believe the gifts of the spirit are still active today, Catholics have their whole range of different beliefs, etc.

On the news recently, its common knowledge now that a woman was arrested for calling a teddy Mohammed. Now to me - this is disgusting. But i realise that when you are in a land different to your own - you must abide by THEIR laws. i.e in my uni years when i went to Egypt, i had to abide by the country laws. However, isnt Christianity responsible for Guantanamo Bay? holding people behind closed doors without a TRIAL - god knows what going on - some may even be innocent by standers? Now as a Buddhist - i see that everyone views injustice differently. Its sick that this teacher was jailed but hey - you have to respect the laws of the land otherwise people in the UK could be doing all sorts.

I always thought that when families said grace before eating on the television it was just a ridiculous exaggeration. I was truly shocked when I saw questions regarding grace on this site.

Does anyone actually say grace?

I don't believe this tale but I think it would be funny if he's wearing cloths from 2000 years ago.

Wouldn't Nike, Reebok or New Balance feel better then leather sandles. What about a nice Versace suit? George Clooney makes it look good.

It seems like no matter what I ask or answer sometimes, people automatically dislike me because I'm a christian. I happen to be a pretty awesome person. :) I have alot of friends. They aren't even all christians. Just wondering if anyone here feels that way and why? If you do, I'd like to talk to you about it, maybe we could be friends.
