If life is eternal and everything under the sun is vanity, then where are we spending eternity ? If Life has a purpose and we live in this purpose then who are we living it for? Everyone's life is special and has a specific purpose to live for and please our creator

and how many of your parents believed the same, and your parents parents and their parents.... and all the way back...keep going further back to when they may have been christians or jews...

And do you still hold onto this fear factor implemented in religion as a sales tact to sell religion quick 'or else it'll be too late ' factor?

Is it becos every now and then somebody points out a 'devised' prediction or two and shows you how it 'fits' into this religious fear factor?

This is our first Christmas in a decent sized house...before we've been in apartments and a tiny tiny cottage...this year I want to make the outside look nice...we have a big porch...with a sort of a roof and two walls either side...what can I do except lights? I will put a wreath on the door but want to avoid lights because of the cost....

My life is cr@p, each day I do things I *have* to do, none of which I enjoy - the housework, looking after my partners ungreatful kids, trying to earn money in a job I don't like, etc - I don't remember the last time I actually enjoyed myself, looked forward to something or felt good about something I was doing...my question is - does everyone feel this way? Am I just being a moan? Is this really all there is??

I don't have any spare money to do anything *fun* which costs anything either, & even if I had money, there isn't anything I can think of that I'd want to do anyway.

I'm just so incredibly bored & fed up with life.
It (my life) just seems like a complete waste of time if I'm bored & miserable throughout it all.

Any advice/thoughts??

Suppose it were empirically proven tomorrow that God either "exists" or "doesn't exist."

Would you still continue believing/unbelieving as you do now?

main question: who is satan?

SUB questions: why does God let evil exist if he is all knowing?
what is your stand on the shroud of turin?
accordingly bible is not reliable but why?

(these questions are actually the questions of my professor in religious education and he has given all the answers to this i just want to try if you are on the right track of your faith as christians)

When you think about it, it makes sense. God decides who gets roasted alive for eternity, God decides who is tortured, and who is not. The devil merely "manages" Hell.

what if the ultimate purpose is to reject God and live a life without him? what if that was why he gave us free will, so we can meet the challenge of a godless life? what if belief is nothing more than a crutch we're supposed to move on from?

Or would you wait until you have more information about me before you judge my character?
It saddens me when I tell someone I don't believe in God and they immediately write me off as rude, crude, immoral, disrespectful and a waste of space.

There is suppose to be a separation but public schools still have religious teachings. They justify this by saying it's history, they just can't preach it. But in choir I had to sing songs about god and write essays about the difference between different religions. So is there really a separation or are they preaching in other ways? And Why should these "historic" teachings be forced upon non-believers?

I dont mean what books are in there that are not in the other bibles.
What I mean is, what do those extra books talk about? Why are they not included in other bibles (KJV, NIS, for example)?
